Hey all, I'm still new. I've been struggling to get good fpv feed. It worked decent the first few sessions and then starting dropping completely. Same location (open field). Vtx is on the same channel as goggles (A/5 5785, 200mw) RH antennas, FS attitude v5, eachine TX5258. I am running a capacitor pigtail rig. I did have to replace the stock capacitor Sanyo 1000uf 25v with another Sanyo 1000uf 30v from radio shack because I prop thrashed it.... Just for reference my cam is the foxeer arrow mini pro 2.5 Is there a certain channel/preferred/bad/good? It completely drops on me lately whenever I get 60ft ish. Vtx/antenna is not touching carbon fiber or close to Fc. Ideas? Wisdom? Sorry no pics, can't figure out how to bring pics and I couldn't select a prefix. • Posts: 12,098 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 https://intofpv.com/t-how-to-upload-pictures Did you swap out attitude antennas or kept the OEM? It is worth a try to change out for better antennas. • Posts: 37 Threads: 5 Likes Received: 4 in 4 posts Likes Given: 38 Joined: Jun 2019 Reputation: 0 (25-Aug-2019, 07:26 AM)voodoo614 Wrote: https://intofpv.com/t-how-to-upload-pictures Did you swap out attitude antennas or kept the OEM? Thank you and thanks for the link ? • Posts: 12,098 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 60 ft is quite short, even on OEM antenna. There might be something wrong with your setup. Do you have more than one quad? Is it happening on more than one quad or just one? I am trying to rule out the goggles. • Posts: 37 Threads: 5 Likes Received: 4 in 4 posts Likes Given: 38 Joined: Jun 2019 Reputation: 0 25-Aug-2019, 10:49 AM (This post was last modified: 25-Aug-2019, 10:50 AM by m0nk444.) Is it happening on more than one quad or just one? I am trying to rule out the goggles. Only one quad. Here's the story, I got my goggles, turned everything on, did a channel search in my house, got a good pic, went and flew at the normal open field.... About a week went by, flew 6 packs a day, things were fine. Then one day (same location) video feed started doing the drop off thing. I did a little research and realized I didn't have my goggles and vtx on the same channel. Same band, just a couple channels off. So I corrected that and headed out expecting outstanding results ? I still had video dropping at that short distance. That's when I realized I've exhausted my knowledge and corrections I could do personally at the moment. So here I am lol. Maybe it's more like 100 feet... But def not farther than that. I'm judging this distance off of my dirt bike jumping days, so I think I'm close on distance. Fortunately this hobby has taught me patience I used to NOT have. • Posts: 12,098 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 I would double check that band/channel are the same. I would check the antenna is on tight both the SMA and the pigtail to the VTX if you have one. I have had solders break/crack where the SMA is soldered to the board. I'm still going to assemble my other parts • Posts: 12,098 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 27-Aug-2019, 01:39 AM (This post was last modified: 27-Aug-2019, 01:39 AM by voodoo614.) I am glad you didn't burn your 5V regulator . Smelled some electrical burn... Vtx has power. I'll have to dig into it later when I'm more free. Like a lot of peeps, part of me enjoys tinkering around with this to a point. The good thing is, I can always LOS. I've got myself in the position that... I can always get my daily fix @))) I love this hobby and there is great support from you veteran guys. Again, that is much appreciated. I haven't drove my arrma typhon at all this summer lol. These qwads have 100% of my attention. I'm going to build all winter. My dad picking up a phantom series is what got me to this niche. Anyway, thanks for the the helps. I'll keep you guys updated • Posts: 6,117 Threads: 172 Likes Received: 2,288 in 1,835 posts Likes Given: 4,737 Joined: Feb 2019 Reputation: 101 my aarma raider need a new servo and it have to wait aswell, as long as i stay in the air with something x-D my 2lipos arrma lipos are used serial, for use as openfield-charger-lipos :-) i guess the typhon drive regulary on 4s? there is a good use for them while the arrma stay at home ;-) Posts: 37 Threads: 5 Likes Received: 4 in 4 posts Likes Given: 38 Joined: Jun 2019 Reputation: 0 (27-Aug-2019, 02:58 AM)hugnosed_bat Wrote: my aarma raider need a new servo and it have to wait aswell, as long as i stay in the air with something x-D my 2lipos arrma lipos are used serial, for use as openfield-charger-lipos :-) i guess the typhon drive regulary on 4s? there is a good use for them while the arrma stay at home ;-) I ride/rode the 3s model. Strange. That's where it should have been powered from in the first place. Anybody have a recommend on a new vtx? I don't mind spending a little more on a solid one. • Posts: 12,098 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 27-Aug-2019, 07:43 AM (This post was last modified: 27-Aug-2019, 07:44 AM by voodoo614.) Lots of solid VTXs. Do you want stack mount or non-stack? Some good brands. Matek, RDQ Mach, TBS, RUSH (from reviews), Tramp. That is really weird it fried. Something was probably going south already. |
