Fried VTx?!
#1
Hi there,
I'm building my first drone, everything went good in the beginning except a motor that sometimes didn't work!
So I unsoldered everything to address the problem. Now that I put everything back together I can't make the VTx to work.
I have selected the correct port in betaflight, loaded the correct tables, it shows as "ready" but I don't think it work actually, if I try to out it in pit mode, when i save it goes back to non pit mode. Also I have no image in goggles. I notice that it goes hot in a matter of seconds and then some LEDs blink.
Tried to use a fan to have it cool and adjust it with the button on the VTx but nothing really solved the issue. Have i fried the VTx? Or even worse, have I damaged the esc?? I was using it all the time with an antenna but maybe I had the drone on couple of minutes when I was trying to fix the motor issue.
The VTx is an eachine tx805.
Thanks!

Ps the first time was working immediately after a scan and corr Correct port chose.

You seem to have several issues..
First address the motor issue.. you can get this flying without a vtx..
You can easily “test” the vtx / camera on the bench (no osd) with a small battery.. it will transmit video without a fc.. this will give u a idea what ur working with ..
Did u use a “smoke stopper” when building this ? Any smoke? When u got video.. did it have osd?

Motor issue is fixed. The connector between ESC and the the motor controller(if its the correct name) was not fully in.
I have tried to connect the camera directly to the vtx, with the power cablesand the smart audio still on the esc(and esc on a battery) but still no signal!
I have not a smoke stopper but thankfully wasnt any smoke. In first start it was osd yes!

Well I double check it now, I have removed also smart audio that time. Still nothing appears in the goggles! So I guess I'm ordering a new vtx

It's always good to have a couple of spare VTX, Receivers and Cameras in your box. It makes troubleshooting issues so much easier.
