bought velocidrone and a frsky qx7, dang its impossible to control. Is it an age thing or is it muscle memory from decades of playstation/xbox gaming i need to erase?

are there any setting settings i can use to make the leaning curve a bit easier.?

Hi,

I went through that quite recently.
Once you load into map, pause it and open settings. You want to make your rates lower than they are. It will make stick inputs less sensitive.

Here, I would recommend mr Steele video on this.

dang i tried those, he also had updated settings in a later video. I can get airbourne and fly around but im totally all over the place. I keep asking myself is this setup correctly or is somthing wrong. It looks so simple watching other velocidrone videos.

Hmm.
Are you flying in acro mode? Do you know difference between Angle/Horizon/Acro modes?
I was just thinking if you are completely new to hobby you might be flying acro not realizing how it works if rates are not the issue?

Have you calibrated the controller in Velocidrone?

yeah had to manually calibrate in velocidrone, follow the guide set yaw/roll etc. Yup flying in acro mode as thats what i'll be doing in the real world, eventually (hopefully)

Better to crash in a simulator than the real thing. You will get better.

There is a great beginner series that I followed. You should check it out.

You'll get there. When I first started I was pretty sure my brain lacked the ability to control an FPV quad. The simulator gives the general idea on the controls and their reaction to your inputs. For me, flying an actual quad was easier, once I got past the fact that I had $400 flying around in a field. And that I took off without ever successfully landing in the sim....

Keep up the practice. Cheaper to crash and less repair time between crashes, hehe.

Deal
Here's the Deal

10" 6S FR10-G Long Range, 5" 6S Rooster, 5" 6S Badger, 5" 6S QAV-S, 5" 4S Badger, 5" 4S Phreakstyle Slam, 5" 6S Yema, 5" 4S Stark, 3" 4S Gecko, and a 3S 2.5" Tadpole, all of which are Crossfire.  Tinyhawk, Tinyhawk S, and a DJI Spark.  And projects on the bench....

Velocidrone flight training playlist is a great resource. I watched it before purchasing the sim but it took me months to reach cap 3 in the series and go to karting track. They made it look soo easy Smile

It just takes time, keep on pushing and lower rates and prop sizes, don't be too aggressive with camera angle, at some point all will make sense

Just bought Velocidrone. I'm very impressed with their video playlists! (The tutorial series in LiftOff is pretty meh...)

had 90 mins with it earlier, empty space and 4 pylons to fly through, as in the video above, ill be damned if i can get around efficiently, it feels like im flying a balloon Smile

edit - had another hour with it, i recalibrated the qx7 and noticed on the osd the centre indicators were off, after fixing that it was instantly more controllable Smile
