It has been a while since I posted any content. Other things in life was just more important as much as some of you don't believe it. I have had this build on my bench for over 6 months. I finally finished it. In addition, I repaired almost all the the other quad that I damage. Ready to go flying again, as soon as the smoke in my area clears. Frame: Armatten Production $20 with camera stack https://armattanproductions.com/pages/kit_detail/885 https://armattanproductions.com/pages/kit_detail/1008 Motor: Brotherhobby 1507 3600kv - $68 https://www.racedayquads.com/collections...cing-motor FC: Matek F411 Mini $26 https://www.racedayquads.com/products/ma...io-osd-bec ESC: Spedix 20A 4in1 $30 https://www.racedayquads.com/products/sp...1287593739 VTX: Aomway Mini VTX004 $17 https://www.racedayquads.com/products/ao...mart-audio I would not buy this again. The antenna connect broke off before I even started. RDQ took care of refund. I solder the antenna directly to the pad, but I don't know how long this will last. 20mm stack VTX comes with MMCX connector now. I would purchase these instead. Camera: Runcam Eagle Mini $45 https://www.racedayquads.com/collections...fpv-camera Receiver: Frsky R-XSR $20 https://www.racedayquads.com/collections...3971782347 ProP: Cyclone 5051C Lightweight $3 https://www.racedayquads.com/products/cy...your-color Total: $229 Trouble I ran into. On 20mm stack, there is not consistency as far as mount holes. Some gear comes with M2 mount, while other come with M3. Anyway, I had to make my holes bigger for the ESC. Weigh-in Dry fit Soldering Took port off RX All wired up and bench testing Finished I will update with final AUW and my impression of flight. I guess it's that time of year This looks like it's going to be an absolute speed demon. I almost can't believe how thin those arms are. I guess this one won't be getting an HD cam on it but looking forward to some high speed DVR footage • Posts: 1,290 Threads: 67 Likes Received: 713 in 473 posts Likes Given: 1,216 Joined: Mar 2016 Reputation: 23 Really nice build! Very clean and well thought out. Look forward to seeing some footage and trust me when I tell you that there are those of us who fully understand that life DOES happen. Good to see you found some time for having fun! "Damn the torpedoes!!! Full speed ahead!!!" I have plenty of quad for that purpose. Thought about a Split, but the wiring is too messy. I think the AUW will be under 250gm. Looks to be nasty! Those props with 3600kv! Zoom Zoom! I wouldnt have thought a 15xx motor would have the torque for a 5051 • Posts: 1,312 Threads: 50 Likes Received: 832 in 504 posts Likes Given: 372 Joined: Jul 2018 Reputation: 51 That's really different. The prop is ultralight, so hoping I don't burn the motors. Yea those are about the lightest 5" props I know of. You might get away with it being it's such a lightweight build though. I have flown a set on my 2300kv build and loved them, could just tell they wanted high kv and low weights though. So they are right where they want to be as long as the motors swing 'em! If your frame can swing 5.1" props T-motor makes an ultralight prop now, 3.8g, 5143x3. I have some to try but waiting on the weather to clear up. • Posts: 12,098 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 (19-Nov-2018, 08:38 PM)Drone0fPrey Wrote: Yea those are about the lightest 5" props I know of. Motors are cool. Couldn't fly FPV because of rain. Hoover at 15-20% throttle. Throttle is very twitchy. Makes me nervous flying LOS. |
