Hi all, I need some help please.

I am trying to get telemetry going on with my Tyro79/F4 Flight Controller when connected to a Jumper R1F receiver.

I have connected the R1F to the standard receiver plug, selected FrSky F-Port as the serial receiver provider in Betaflight, set serialrx_halfduplex = OFF, set serialrx_inverted = ON. Got the appropriate pads on the FC bridged to enable SBUs. See attached image.

Everything works except the telemetry! How do I connect this receiver to get full telemetry? Should I connect the signal of the receiver to a different pad? And how do I configure that in Betaflight?

PS: You will need a spare UART TX pin to run F.Port unlike SBUS.

I think I may have seen that before but got confused. I'll study it again and see how it relates to my case.

Unfortunately I am not sure how to identify if I have a spare UART TX pin.... 

Do you have any more pointers for me?

Jumper should really put a warning on the R1F receiver listing about the inability to use it with most F4 flight controllers. A lot of people only find that out after they have bought one and then gone through all the headaches of trying to get it to work.

The bottom line is that you can't use the Jumper R1F receiver with an F4 flight controller unless the FC has a dedicated inverted TX pad on it (which the Tyro79 FC doesn't), or unless you make some hardware mods to the R1F receiver. See the following thread for how to do that...

Oh, wow!! Righto - that post very much answers all of my questions. This is definitely not something I can do easily. I will be content to just fly my Tyro79 with the R1F - never mind the telemetry. That soldering is just too much mucking around for me.
