Turning tiny whoop into hd whoop with split camera?
#16
Ok, after watching many videos I've decided to buy Caddx Loris 4K. It has very nice HD footage with sharp image (I like it) and mass of ~10 grams. The FPV analog feed looks terrible but I don't really care as I have other 75 mm drone to fly fast.

To test if my whoop is able to carry that much extra weight I've attached additional 450 mAh battery (not connected) to my current drone (Meteor75 flying on 450 mAh 1S). Normally it flies 5 min, with extra mass of the battery (12.7 g) flight time decreased to 3.5 min. 12.7 g is almost exactly the mass of Caddx Loris 4K, additional BEC (1S to 5V/2A) and most probably Crossfire Nano with antenna. The performance is not that bad - I plan to do some cinematic shots with it.

Here is some custom build made by Albert Kim on 75 mm frame and Caddx Loris 4K.

Here is what he achieved with a bit of editing on PC - for me it's amazing Wink

I still prefer to do it on BetaFpv parts as I have local dealer near my location but if somebody what's something out of the box here is the upcoming eachine product (Eachine Cinefun 1S 75mm) that uses Caddx Loris 4K or RunCam Split 3 Lite (same as in Mobula6 HD)

Hello like-minded person,

I'm also on the quest for the best recording solution for my whoop type drones. And I also am still trying to figure out between the camera from the Mobula6 HD or the one from the Meteor65HD, or the 4K one you went for. But not only that, I'm also wondering, what's the best solution:

One of these split cameras, or a Insta360 Go for the whoops powerful enough to carry it. Why go for an expensive, action cam, when today you can have great split cams like the ones above? Other than the possibility to use the same action cam on many drones.

For example, the Caddx 4K, has 4K, unlike the Insta360 Go. It's also cheaper, and lighter, and replace the analog cam.

So yea, I'm struggling to choose between all of this, and I'd love to know what you think.

Take a look at my Tiny-Black-85 build.

Here is a pic of the finished quad.

The canopy on the iFlight A85 frame mounts separately from the FC and is designed to fit a Caddx Vista unit inside;
should be plenty of room for the RunCam split 3 lite or any other HD cam setup.

Although a little on the heavy side, the frame is solid and consists of a plastic whoop component, a carbon fiber bottom brace, and a tall, really sturdy, canopy. This frame accepts the standard 4 bolt motors used in the larger whoops and toothpicks. Plus, any 26x26 whoop format FC will fit.

The 85mm frame size is also large enough that it is a bit easier to work with {at least in my opinion}.

Over the past few years, I have build many whoops from 65mm to 95mm with the standard plastic frames {many from BetaFPV}, but this iFlight whoop frame is the best one that I have used {in my opinion}. For me, that quad is super fun to fly.
