The LR "Challenge"
#16
Kind of a bit off-topic here but has anyone seen this Xing2 motor before? https://shop.iflight-rc.com/index.php?ro...earch=1404. I ran across it tonight while looking at weights of different 1404's from the different manufacturers. Personally, I don't know enough of the technical info on all this LR stuff but I really like the 1404 Xing's that I have now, so very curious about these. If they are indeed brand new I'm wondering if they might be more efficient for LR needs.

Hi Skavage,

I can't tell much difference in the specs and they weight about the same as others, however, I don't think you can judge a motor just by the spec sheet. They do look pretty cool. If you are in the market for a set of motors, you might give them a try and see how they perform. If you do, post it somewhere.

Yes I might give them a shot. I found it interesting that they are cheaper than the v1's. Usually it's the other way around.

1404 is my favorite size.
I got Emax Eco, Flywoo nin (v1) and ofcourse Xing1404 unibell - but after some light crashes where prop was stuck, I burned some winding. It still flies!

Its probably psychosematic,
Xing1404 is very zippy.

I strongly urge you all, especially if you are used to 3", to try building a sub80g 4" 1404 toothpick.

Depending on flying style, 10-12min flight time with regular 650mah. Using Gaoneng 1100mah HV, probably +40%.

Xing2 1404 - There are 3 big problems:
1) no thrust data from Xing2 1404. Ideally mfcr would provide values at 20, 40, 60, 80, 100%. Or even just three values.. 20, 40, 100%. Toothpicks are so light, even popping over a tree is *only* 50% throttle...

2) many people already bought Baby Croc, Explorer LR etc.. or like me have several sets of 4" motors. Even if they are 10% better (unlikely), its hard to justify yet another set.

3) The PickleFork 154mm 13.8g frame is OOS .. for months. And nothing even close. Only way to hit Sub 80g

Besides, busy with ExpressLRS, 6" ultralight build, and the H7 dev board + Lora side project

I don't know how #2 or #3 is a big problem at all.  Frankly not everyone has several sets of 4" motors like you, so it's no problem at all for me to buy a set.  And how exactly are Xing2 1404's a problem for the Picklefork?  That makes no sense to me.  Maybe I am misunderstanding?

Pretty sure that the antenna weighs more than that.  The circuitry might be a different matter if it were on the FC's PCB.

Links/video for a homemade 2g GPS with a lightweight dipole antenna (instead of the heavy ceramic antenna) in this post: https://intofpv.com/t-dave-c-s-nano-long...#pid127235
