0 So i was thinking of getting the new th3 freestyle kit but, I dont want to have to use the ph2.0 connectors and am thinking of upgrading to this battery lead by BetaFPV.
Battery Lead What do yall think? Ive heard that bt2.0 is way better than ph2.0.
Give me your opinion.

20 13-Oct-2023, 07:40 PM (This post was last modified: 13-Oct-2023, 07:45 PM by Rob Axel.) Much better! One of the “mods” done to a lot of THFreestyles is the installation of a XT-30….some say it’s a good mod, others disagree… the argument is that the amp draw is increased from the “better” connector and the aio can’t handle it…
The THFreestyle 3 does NOT use that same aio… a good thing in that u have a 25x25 platform so if u have a smoked older THFreestyle this frame will allow you to use the motors and any whoop fc… also, since this AIO feeds the HDzero vtx.. so it may have been improved elsewhere ..
FWIW.. if this fc fails in the future… install a Darwin 1-3s aio and run it on 3s… it is a blast! That is another THFreestyle mod…

Was probably going to get the analog version so I could teach my gf how to fly as well along with me before I get the hdzero version later. I wouldn't go with the xt-30 way because I want to later fly more micros and stuff like that 1s lipos. I also don't have to go through as much trouble to charge those batteries as well.
For changing the battery lead would I just desolder the capacitor from the og cable and then add it to the new cable at the top or somewhere. Would I completely desolder the wire from the aio and then put the new wire on?

20 If u are just starting out… fly it AS IS.. buy a handful of cheap 450-650 1s lipos… when you destroy them.. get more… TRUST ME!… that quad will outfly you for quite some time… and also will become your favorite ..
My THFreestyle has had so many “repairs”.. I think the only original component is the battery strap..not kidding!
You will have PLENTY of chances to “upgrade” that rig.. get airborn first.. emax has a real good beginner friendly “tune” and rates with their kits…
