Looks like a good deal indeed. Im a bit of a TBS fanboy, so i've ordered a couple of the crossfire ones to check out. Oh, and it is called the " Sixty9 " • Posts: 4,731 Threads: 392 Likes Received: 3,231 in 1,827 posts Likes Given: 3,214 Joined: Apr 2019 Reputation: 101 This is like Christmas for my OCD lol. It's about time they did this. Whitenoise's Crossfire + Unify mounting board has been around for ages it seemed like a no brainer to combine the two at some point. • Posts: 4,550 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,245 in 1,064 posts Likes Given: 430 Joined: Aug 2020 Reputation: 118 I love the idea and the mounting options. Much easier to get a clean build. • Posts: 110 Threads: 30 Likes Received: 11 in 8 posts Likes Given: 49 Joined: Jun 2021 Reputation: 0 11-Jul-2021, 07:07 PM (This post was last modified: 11-Jul-2021, 07:09 PM by Kuchenz.) Thats nice, when i see this im thinking of put this in my tyro and desolder the Nano Rx for other usage Fly save • Posts: 1,385 Threads: 119 Likes Received: 1,420 in 736 posts Likes Given: 1,095 Joined: Jun 2019 Reputation: 41 How is it all connected up? Do we get SA and CRSF options for the vtx? • Posts: 4,550 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,245 in 1,064 posts Likes Given: 430 Joined: Aug 2020 Reputation: 118 12-Jul-2021, 06:47 AM (This post was last modified: 13-Jul-2021, 03:40 AM by kafie1980.) They have updated the crossfire manual to show the pinouts and here is the original listing: https://www.team-blacksheep.com/products...ire_sixty9 There does not seem to be SmartAudio to FC implementation on the Sixty9: There is an Audio pin for an external microphone but do not confuse this with SmartAudio. So basically the connections between the RX and the VTX will run via CRSF which will be controlled by the new "Video TX" function that replaces "MyVTX" via the TBS Agent lite/Lua. Pitmode is available via a transmitter stick. I initially thought they combined a Crossfire RX with a Pro32 Nano VTX but now realize its 1W VTX JB on one recorded stream said the other day that ImmersionRC first came up with the idea on their proton boards. You need to solder the Ghost RX and Tramp Nano VTX onto the proton board and the Tramp Nano max's out at 600mW in optimal conditions. What he should have been referring to are the Ghost Hybrid boards. I also love the solder pads under the connector incase you rip the connector off. Anyway I was so excited for this concept that I missed your point hugs sorry ... Quote:the best on it seems the price of 49$, unbeatable to past products of tbs... the price difference is huge, comes close to a scam... while we payed 49 for the vtx only, the new board has a builtin receiver additional for the same price I agree that is kinda sketchy. Maybe it has something to do with the two separate PCBs, 2 separate QA streams, inventory, logistics, etc. But the disconnect is rather big. Hopefully that just leaves room for price reduction on either end - the 69s or the individual components - to bring them more into parity. Yes the price is close to a scam especially when they mentioned it has a 1W VTX. The TBS UNIFY PRO32 HV on its own costs $49.95. I thought it was a Crossfire + Pro32 Nano combine which would cost $24.95 + $29.95 = $54.9. So I thought the Sixty9 is $10 cheaper probably because of the cost savings in PCB manufacturing and some shared components. The only reason that would indicate that the vtx part is not the basic Pro32 Nano is that there is no native audio support whereas the UNIFY PRO32 HV does. But that dose not matter much because TBS can change the specs anytime. If someone can measure the actual output power on the VTX only then we can know for certain. I think they tried to compete with the pricing of the IRC Ghost Hybrid which retails for $49.95. • Posts: 4,731 Threads: 392 Likes Received: 3,231 in 1,827 posts Likes Given: 3,214 Joined: Apr 2019 Reputation: 101 13-Jul-2021, 03:47 AM (This post was last modified: 13-Jul-2021, 03:49 AM by the.ronin.) PyroDrone has them in stock now. But I decided I would hold off. For starters, I have all these nanos already. Also I'll wait until they iron out the kinks and see what people think. Right now theres already a weird thing with the first batch where you can only bind in 868 mode or something then you gotta switch it back to 915. It's a great space and weight savings form factor but I'll wait. • Posts: 4,550 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,245 in 1,064 posts Likes Given: 430 Joined: Aug 2020 Reputation: 118 13-Jul-2021, 05:22 AM (This post was last modified: 13-Jul-2021, 05:24 AM by kafie1980.) I know how you feel. The first batch of TBS products always seem cursed And then we get a V2 and a V3 .... Like the Tango 2 owners. • Posts: 21,245 Threads: 586 Likes Received: 8,962 in 6,632 posts Likes Given: 1,425 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 787 Never buy the first revision of any product. There are nearly always hardware improvements to be made after the first release. We are currently on revision 45 of the Crossfire Nano RX I have no idea what revision that started off with but I'm quite sure we can't have had 45 actual revisions of that. VIFLY products are another classic example. They have a history of bringing out a "V2" just a few months after the initial product was released. The same goes for a few other manufacturers in the hobby. Just sit back and wait for all the "beta testers" to spend their money on the first version and then enjoy the new improved version a few months later • Posts: 4,550 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,245 in 1,064 posts Likes Given: 430 Joined: Aug 2020 Reputation: 118 (13-Jul-2021, 10:04 AM)SnowLeopardFPV Wrote: Never buy the first revision of any product. I did get hit with buying the Crossfire Micro TX V1 just a few months before the V2 came out. • Posts: 21,245 Threads: 586 Likes Received: 8,962 in 6,632 posts Likes Given: 1,425 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 787 I bought the VIFLY Finder V1 just a few weeks before the V2 came out. Same with the Shortsaver. I have a V1 that I bought about a month before the V2 appeared. Fool me once, fool me twice but not a 3rd time No-one should buy the GPS-mate V1. Just wait a few months for the "final" V2 version I bought the Crossfire Micro TX V1 about a year before the V2 got released so I didn't feel cheated. I then bought the Crossfire Micro TX V2 for a -30% discount which TBS was offering to V1 owners (I'm not sure if that offer still stands). One mildly annoying thing about the Crossfire Micro TX V2 however is that even at 250mW it makes the transmitter speaker buzz. The V1 doesn't do that even on 250mW. • Posts: 85 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 22 in 19 posts Likes Given: 51 Joined: May 2021 Reputation: 0 Its a merging of 2 well established products, so personally im not concerned about the V1 thing myself. While im here.. There is a 6.06 Crossfire update, which is required for the Sixty9. Although I don't think theres anything else of interest in there outside of Sixty9 support.. • |
