I want to use 4 strips and each pulls 60mA. I also want to be able to switch them on and off. I am using a Mamba F4 mini with a 5v BEC that is only rated for 2A. The LEDs are ok for 3S. If I wired the positives directly to the 3S lipo and the negatives to the beeper GND pad, would I be able to safely power these LEDs and also be able to turn them on and off through the beeper? As an aside, do you need the LED signal wire to be able to turn LEDs on and off if they only had a positive and ground wire connected to the LED pos and GND pads? (No signal wire.) Thanks for any advice! • Posts: 12,099 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 The LED is meant for programmable LED, which is three wire. Sounds like you just have normal LED, so no you don't. You just need to power your LED with the appropriate voltage to light them up. As for your idea of connecting your LED neg to buzz neg and LED pos to the lipo. It could likely work. I can't see why it would not. I guess do it at your own risk. I thought I'd read somewhere that the buzzer switch uses the GND to toggle power. VCC is the same as directly tapping off lipo right? • Posts: 12,099 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 12-Jul-2019, 05:09 AM (This post was last modified: 12-Jul-2019, 05:10 AM by voodoo614.) VCC is lipo voltage. Sometimes it has filtration. But most likely not. Just make sure your FC is designed that way because if you try and sink 240mA directly through the MCU, all of some of it will get destroyed. Not entirely sure what that meant but I floated another email to Diatone support to make sure. Shoot forgot to mention off the bat this was for a Mamba F4 mini. • Posts: 12,099 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 http://multicopter-howto.blogspot.com/20...t.html?m=1 Snow is referring to the transistor that is connected to the MCU. it is safe to say that this is the case with all FC. • Posts: 4,731 Threads: 392 Likes Received: 3,231 in 1,827 posts Likes Given: 3,214 Joined: Apr 2019 Reputation: 101 13-Jul-2019, 07:18 AM (This post was last modified: 13-Jul-2019, 07:29 AM by the.ronin.) Well is works!! But ... lol ... it flashes. Which makes sense since the buzzer is not constant it is beeping lol. This might be a long shot but is there a CLI command I can use to change the beeper from beeping to constant beep? Is it the beeper frequency? I also see a MULTI_BEEPS parameter. • Posts: 12,099 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 13-Jul-2019, 07:38 AM (This post was last modified: 13-Jul-2019, 07:42 AM by voodoo614.) Actually me and Snow have gone through this whole conversation before. He ended having to custom compile a firmware for it to work. Let me find the thread and update this post. https://intofpv.com/t-switching-accessories-with-f3-v2 • Posts: 12,099 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 I wonder if you can reassign the buzz- to a PINIO. Then you can use it as a switch. And it will already has the transistor on it. • Posts: 12,099 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 13-Jul-2019, 07:53 AM (This post was last modified: 13-Jul-2019, 07:53 AM by voodoo614.) Someone did it. He is controlling the VTX, but you can put whatever you want on it. (Wow really clever way to vtx switch!) • Posts: 12,099 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 (13-Jul-2019, 08:04 AM)the.ronin Wrote: Holy cow man this is friggin brilliant! I am so stoked to have these crazy little LEDs on these tiny pocket rockets they will look crazy zipping around bright as heck LOLLLLL. I'm hoping to take a slow shutter speed video at night zipping around in the park leaving light trails with these LEDs haha. Thanks again voodoo. • |
