Hey all just replaced motors after crash, bent shaft. Now quad spins in circles on take off. Calib esc, motor rotation correct, props on the right way, Didn't change any other parts so fc is still correct orientation. It will take off but just spins in circles. Still to new to know why, any help is appreciated.
I thought of that and I have motor guards on, motors spin easily and equally. First thing I checked. I hit a tree and bent 1 motor shaft so I opted to replace all 4 motor as it took 5wks. To get the last motor choice. This time I choose a better motor. I hope it isn't a gyro issue on the fc matek 722 std
All food for the brain, will rummage all of this when I get off work and apply the knowledge and wisdom as I am frustrated but not forsaken.... never say nofly

I have checked the motor screws all clear and free, motors rev up and sound the same at 1056 equally. checked motors tab and there is some rms wave until they get up to 1056 then it smooth's out to residual noise very small pattern.
Man, this may be a long shot, but are you going props out? If so, check the reverse motor direction in the config tab. That ate me up and put mine in a tree. It was a hard yaw spin straight up on arm/takeoff

A valid thing to check have done it myself. If "yaw_motor_direction" is set opposite of the prop direction you run, it usually spirals straight up upon arming, or at first throttle input.

Lmao, thank God. Scared the living sh*t out of my friend and I. Luckily we had a tree about 20ft above. Unluckily my brain said "hey, that's a $25 battery, you should catch it before it gets hurt!!". Those HQProps are tough... Lol
found 2 problems 1) 2 esc had a cracked solder pad so I soldered other side of pad and would only show up when it got moving sometimes. hard to see it. 2) In blheli 1 motor got reversed after I went through my final pass through and got ready for my hover test, lucky I keep a journal on all my builds and there setting in betaflight and my qx7 just took some research of a few other builds and settings to compare what I was seeing on screen. in process of cleaning up and reconfiguring now... cross my toes that this was the problem
