New 12 channel TX from Spektrum, the iX12 has a 4 inch touch screen and quad core processor running android OS, offering compatibility with google play store apps, and providing WiFi & bluetooth capability.
If anyone read my FlySky buyers guide posted to Oscar's Blog recently - I said that I thought the touchscreen of the FlySky i8 and i10 TX's was a bit of a gimmick, but there will probably be great innovations made in this area in the near future. Well Spektrum are now providing the real benefits that I hinted at. They have managed it without making it butt ugly too!
The bluetooth can be utilized for a wireless trainer connection, or to keep voice alerts private with bluetooth headphones, you can even listen to music through the TX!
With the micro USB port and its smart technology you can now connect your FC to configurator apps installed on your TX! You can also use the Andriod OS to run your lap timing app too!
The iX 12 also offers text-to-speech software so you can customize your voice alerts, and offers support for long range RF systems such as TBS crossfire.
If only I had a spare $600!
