SKYZONE SKY02C or secondhand HD3
#1
Hello
I'm looking to get a a pair of goggles and have a few questions. First of, my budget is around the 350$ mark but I am willing to spend more if it's worth it. I am thinking about getting the SKY02C's as they seem like good midrange goggles. I have however seen a a pair of secondhand Fs HD3's including a Furious True-D for 350.
Is it worth paying the extra or should I spend my money elsewhere?

Worth buying the best goggles you can afford. They are something you will continue to use for a long time.

You might also want to check out the new(ish) FatShark Attitude V5's if you've not already seen them. They retail at $299. Coupled with something like a very capable Achilles equipped module (i.e. the Realacc RX5808) which are cheaper than the others, that will come in somewhere close to your $350 budget.

Would you take the V5's over the Sky02C's? In many reviews that I've read and watched the 02's were the better choice.

TBH, I haven't actually watched any reviews of the SKY02C's. I just thought I'd throw the FatSharks into the ring to give you even more to think about Big Grin

I guess at the end of the day it's your call. I personally like FatSharks for their modular upgrade capability which makes them a bit future proof because you can just fit another module to them if you decide you want something different, or if something new appears on the market. The only downside with FatSharks is that the DVR quality sucks. I'm not sure what it's like on the SKY02C's without watching some reviews.

Yeah there are quite a few options which makes choosing one rather difficult. Another I have is: Do you think I'd get a good deal by paying 350$ for the secondhand HD3's with receiver or is it better to buy an new pair of goggles for the same or less amount?

Have you ever tried or thought of using box style googles?

Yes but I figured if I'm going to buy my own ones I might as well spend some more and get the other ones. Why, would you suggest buying box goggles first?
