Hey guys,
Would any of you be interested in collaborating on a quad safety video that we could post to youtube and share? When I do a search for multirotor and quad safety not much comes up... drone safety seems to focus on DJI style photo platforms. For the race/freestyle quad community and for intofpv members especially.
Here is my thought on how we could do the video:
First we could collect a set of topics that we think would make sense to include in the video
Second we could hold a poll to pick which of the selected topics make it into the final video
Then we could post it up almost like a pot-luck and let people pick which sections of the video that they'd like to record each person could pick one topic first and then if there are topics left over we could do another round of volunteering until each of the topics are covered.
Then we give everyone a week or two to record their videos and send them to whomever is going to do the final edits and put everything together (I can do it but I am no video editing artist so I would definitely say it would be better if there is someone who is good with the edits to do that instead. Obviously it needs the intofpv intro!
Finally someone could share the video with links to intofpv and whatever websites each of the contributors would like linked in the description
If you guys like the idea share some potential topics, if you don't then let us know what we're not thinking of.
I'll get a list started and update it as topics are suggested. Mods, feel free to edit my post if I end up too slow along the way.

- Always remove props before powering up quad inside / on workbench
- Don't use motor_stop, even if you're tempted.
- Set your failsafe based on your personal preferences (maybe some recommendations on soft landing or disarm. I've heard arguments for both)
- Always know where your radio is when retrieving your quad. If in doubt take it with you. And don't accidentally arm your quad when its in someone else's hand!
- Proper care and transport of lipos / fire safety
- Don't fly over or at people
- Don't land too close to people or yourself, especially without disabling air mode.
- Join or at least follow the guidelines of a respected modelers club such as the AMA (To cover all the basics)
- Always be safe when working with soldering irons.
- Don't fly near airports and check your local/regional laws regarding RC flight and RF transmissions (such as 5.8GHz for FPV video)
