Radio Transmitter
#1
Hi guys
this is a simple one, I'm currently using a Flysky fs-i6x and no complaints it does the work for the price perhaps some latency from time to time, not a big deal but now I want something a little bit better and with more range so what you guys think I should get between the FrSky Taranis Q X7 2.4GHz 16CH Transmitter or the FrSky Taranis X9 Lite ACCESS 2.4G 24CH Radio Transmitter. I don't really know what to look for in a radio transmitter and what the differences are between these two.

Frsky is actually has more latency than Flysky. As far as range, they are probably very similar.

If you want less latency and better range, get the Jumper T16 Pro with Crossfire. You will be using the Crossfire to achieve better range and less latency. If you can wait a bit, Radiomaster has announced their radio with Crossfire package.

As for the two radios you listed, if you want to know a little more, then I can explain. But they will not do what you want much better than your Flysky.

At this time I would probably stay away from the FrSky transmitters, purely because of FrSky forcing you down the ACCESS and ACCST D16 only routes with who knows what other restrictions they might impose in the future. That is of course unless you are happy to buy into and commit yourself to their locked-down protocols for the long run. The FrSky gear is undoubtedly better quality and better built than the Jumper equipment, but you now lose a lot of flexibility with the FrSky equipment out-of-the-box and have to spend yet more money on a multiprotocol module, and/or in the case of the QX7(s) do hardware hacks to get a Crossfire module to work properly in the way it was designed.
