118 Your can try soldering it but that may change the length and the solder may also affect the antenna tune.
I would just buy a new antenna will cost $5 or $10.

796 You'll get reduced range. How much is difficult to say without trying it and keeping an eye on the RSSI while hoping you don't get a failsafe.
As kafie said, just get a new antenna. It's not worth the risking the potential loss of your quad for the sake of $5-$10 for a new antenna.

118 Although not advisable, you could fly around yourself within a max of 50m since 900mhz has good penetration.
Do not attempt to fly in an urban area with people around.
Remember to set failsafe to drop (avoid gps rescue) and be ready to disarm the minute you feel a lack of stick control as you may have a flyaway or you may hurt someone or damage their property.
