Qx7 not binding to geprc elegant
#1
Hey guys, been flying quads for 1 yrs, was into the helicopters for 3 yrs. I have a robocat 280 and dropped it into a gep mark3. If seen using spectrum. I decided to get a qx7 as many of the quads are frsky. I purchased a tinyhawk freestye but I think I got a bad one because it binds but throws high throttle warning even after setting my end point correctly. Anyway I ordered a elegant form gep, nice quad, but it will not bind. I followed the instructions on the bind procedure and it won't bind. Settings qx7 = XJT D16 ch 1-8 (9ms) internal, and tried external. Not changes where made in beta flight the first attempts to bind. I played with some settings to see if it works then changed them back. I cannot find a dump file for this drone. Yes I played with the bind button, please help

My e mail is [email protected]

Can you describe your binding process? And what receiver do you have in the Elegant?

You don't need to worry about this setting.  Frsky binding is pretty straightforward.

I have a qx7 , set to D16 ch 1-8 (9m) and have tried internal and external and it won't bind. I'll get more info after work tonight

Followed instructions to the T and it still won't bind. Qx7 is current us version with open text

I just want a description your step by step. Just want to make sure you didn't miss or follow the incorrect instructions.

According to the internet, you should have the R-XSR receiver. Can you you confirm that when you get home.

On break, but yes that is what I ordered and that's what they sent. I brought the Manuel with me. The manual state to put the transmitter rf to bind mode, I put my radio in bind mode, ( internal or external should work according to the manual and I tried both even followed the screen shot) powered on the quad with the blue light flashing and no bind. The manual says to have XJT in D 16 enabled with the channels set to 1-8 @ 9ms, I made sure of that and tried to bind, nothing. There is no botton on the reciever so I have to use the tbx button and hold it for 4 seconds to put it into r-sxr mode. They don't really give you a color code chart, so all I know is holding for 4 sec switches between the 2. I got the dump file and I'm going to try that and then the bind, everyone I've seen with this quad is just able to bind it I D16 mode no problem

The R-XSR has a button. You need to hold that button F/S button down when you power up the quad. The red light on the receiver is solid red. When it flashes, that means it bound.

As for the QX7, put it into internal D16 mode. When asked, pick 1-8 with Tele.

You have to power cycle the receiver and get out of bind mode in radio. If properly bound, you should see solid green light.

You probably haven't assigned any switches to channels for the model on your QX7. The following video will show you how to do that...

Your endpoints need to be set from 1000 at one end of the stick travel to 2000 at the other end of the stick travel. How did you set the endpoints? On the transmitter or using RX ranges in Betaflight?

I have the end points set to 1005 low, 1500 mid, and 2000 high. The radio reads 988 but I trimmed it up to 1000. I just watched part of the video this morning and created an arm channel but I think I still have to set the mix. Had to hit the gym, then work though, so tomorrow I'm gonna finish the video and apply the settings and hopefully she'll ramp up and I can take her out on maiden.

So I got it to arm set my switches, however when I arm it and play with the throttle it wants to continue accelerating even when I lower the stick all the way, I have motor stop envoked but when I arm it the props spool up. Low stick 1000 mid 1500 high 2000, reciever 988.
