0 Good day everyone!
I'm wanting to put a flight controller on a racing wing, but use the PWM outputs on the receiver (X4RSB) for the servos (not running the servos off of the flight controller). Do I just use the SmartPort and no other connections? I'm basically gong to use the FC for the OSD, and SmartAudio for VtX control, LED control and basic telemetry.
Will that work?
Thanks,
Jonathan Ott

To have control of the menu in the flight controller firmware (Betaflight or INav), you need radio control. That means you will have to wire up SBUS. which will only leave you with 3 PWM channels.
You can forgo radio control, which means that you will need to use LUA script and wire up S. Port. You will need a radio that runs OpenTX and have Lua Script. If you do, it will likely work. Of course I have not test it.

0 Yeah, I'm flying FrSky receivers and a QX7 transmitter.
I'm thinking if I can't run servos off the receiver and then the other stuff off the FC, I could go the more expensive way and bind two receivers to this plane. One running the servos (X4RSB), the other (maybe an RXSR) to the FC. The X4RSB will listen to the transmitter, and the RXSR will talk back and forth to the transmitter.
I dunno...it might work.

388 I would try with one receiver first. Considering you have everything to try it.
