Quadcopters.co.uk Shuts Up Shop - 35% Off All Remaining Stock
#1
I've just heard that one of the main FPV vendors in the UK Quadcopters.co.uk which has been running for around 12 years has shut up shop due to the fact they are struggling with sales. I bought a number of items from them in the past so it's sad to see them go. Their website also appears to have gone offline. One of the owners said they would consider any sensible offers from one of the other UK stores to buy them out. I sure hope this isn't a sign that other UK vendors might also be in trouble.

R.I.P. Sad

Aww. I've bought quite a lot of bits from them in the past.

I was wondering how they were doing, as the new products went quite stale towards the end of lockdown.

A real loss.

The ground is for dead people.

So it looks like their website is back up for the time being. Probably so they can try to sell any remaining stock they still have.

Below are the original statements that Geoff Turner made regarding them closing the business...

Sad, but not surprising.  Sad

Whether we believe it or not, my perception is that all of the new REGULATIONS are having a negative
affect on the FPV hobby.  Some of us are bold, brave, and willing to try to work through it, but many
others just don't want the hassle. I am hoping that we can keep a few of the better vendors here
in the USA open. Although having a storefront is nice, I predict that the majority of sales will be made
online...the broader market.

Take a look at the brushed motor "toy" market...is it shrinking {or is it just me}  Huh Cry

All remaining stock at Quadcopters.co.uk is now at a discounted 35% off. LiPos can only be picked up in person because they have now terminated their delivery courier contract so the only postal method available is Royal Mail who won't deliver LiPos. There's not a lot of decent stuff left in stock but someone may find something they need, so it's probably still worth taking a look.

It's been said that they lost a huge amount of their European customer base caused by additional import/export duties and customs delays to Europe as a result of that total calamity called Brexit, so those customers just started shopping at European and Chinese FPV web shops.

Sad to see that Brexit is affecting the UK's businesses so badly. The draconian Covid lock down in the UK must have played it's part aswel.
As a professional designer and photographer and I used to order quite a lot of gear and supplies from the UK. Brexit and Covid put a dead stop to that. It will be hard times ahead for the UK i'm afraid.
