Is it alright ? • Posts: 20 Threads: 2 Likes Received: 2 in 2 posts Likes Given: 6 Joined: Dec 2019 Reputation: 0 With all that said, I think I'm more likely to buy a Taranis QX7 to match my buget. Is the presence of hall gimbals necessary or should it be fine ? • Posts: 863 Threads: 43 Likes Received: 286 in 202 posts Likes Given: 12 Joined: Nov 2018 Reputation: 5 Here's the Deal

Wow, was the nano a good choice ? It would match my budget • Posts: 863 Threads: 43 Likes Received: 286 in 202 posts Likes Given: 12 Joined: Nov 2018 Reputation: 5 It's a great choice, but it doesn't come with any adapters from u.fl to SMA, although they can be purchased. That's what I did. They can be found in varying lengths, and can be had with or without screw mounting. https://www.getfpv.com/rp-sma-to-ufl-cable-70mm.html Just an example without any way to mount. Don't forget, your VTX and goggle antennas must both be RHCP or LHCP. Not a mix. Deal Here's the Deal

No way to mount it. It's LHCP, so remember to buy LHCP for your goggles. Deal Here's the Deal

They are okay, but you will likely need some antenna "glue" to lock the connector on. https://www.banggood.com/FrSky-Receiver-...43895.html MMCX is a much better connector and it would be my recommendation to purchase your VTX accordingly. U.FL connections are giving way to MMCX for a reason. For that, the antenna glue seems to hold them on well during typical tumbles and it is heat resistant as well, so when the VTX gets hot (it WILL get hot), it does not lose adhesion like "hot glue stick". As for the radio, I have the original QX7 and have never had any issues with the old style gimbals, but if the hall style gimbals can be had for a few dollars more, then it would likely be worth it. Keep in mind that quads will come and go, but your goggles and radio will be there for the long run. Better to spurge on them up front. As for frames, with the low cost of very effective CF frames, printing one really just seems like an exercise for fun...but CF will most likely suit you much better. Lately I have been using the long versions of the AXII's and have had good luck, but dollar for dollar it is hard to beat Pagoda's for performance. I started filling a bead of hot glue between the disks. The top disk on the Pagoda design seems to be its weak point. Overall, great choice in antenna!
