Push on 65mm props?
#1
Is there any way to put the 65mm push on props without destroying motors?

I can already see pushing the shaft right through the bell or bust an e clip.

there are 3 diameters, 1mm on very tiny motors, 1,5mm and rarely on 1303 2mm shaft.
take care you have the right mountsize.

they are tight sometimes, you dont need to put it in contact with the bell, just on top of the shaft. no fear you shouldnt destroy the motor :-)

These are 1.5mm shafts on Geprc phantom. The motors take t-bolts but BNF didn’t include any prop bolts.
I got all but one on and I think the very end of shaft might have a little burr I can feel with a fingernail.A bit of emery cloth on the burr should help get prop past that point.

Weather sucked so couldn’t  fly outside today.

Everything checked out on the drone so next nice day I’ll see how it flies.

It just seems like the little e-clips could snap when pressing on props with enough force or the shaft goes through bell.
So as long as shaft goes through to the end of prop and prop spins true it should be good?
If all fails I’ll pull the M3 screws out of baby crocodile and use Tmount props and order more M3 prop screws in the next order but Geprc needs to include 8 Tmount screws in BNF kits.

these are m2 screws, dont buy m3 as spare screws.

I ordered a bunch from BG.
I ended up pressing on the HQ T-mount props and I think they can be pressed on or t-bolts.

I flew a few 2S packs through phantom and it’s a fun little drone.

Unfortunately weather still sucks so I didn’t really get to wring it out.

I think I can make a tool or maybe soaking props in hot water will soften up plastic enough to allow it to slip over shaft easier.
I think by using a tiny tiny C type clamp and applying pressure on the bottom of shaft while pushing down on prop it will keep the force on shaft and not the clips or bell.

I wasn’t expecting such a tiny drone to fly as good as it does. It’s a fun little drone and perfect size for back yard flying.
It’s quiet too.
I’m using 2S HV 550 from ChinaHobbyLine and will soon try 3S if needed.
2S seems perfect for my stage of learning.
Not too fast but plenty powerful to do some cruising.

the stiffness is needed inflight, it shouldnt need to use hot water.

probably you received a bad batch of props? i would buy some to check that
did you mesure the motorshaft diameter? probably there is sometjing wrong?

Hi Rob3ddd,

First I definitely would NOT put the props in hot water; bad idea.
The prop bolts are M2 x 7mm and fit 90 percent of the T-Mount props including the HQProp T65mm 2.5 inch which has 1.5mm hole.
