Pin on PH 2.0 baterry plug burn out
#1
Hi fellow pilots.

I'm flying Mobula 7 around the house. Only recently I have replaced original RS0802 KV20000 motors to EX0802 KV25000 and I realized my 1s batteries are acting funny only recently. They would drop to 0v just to restore back to 3.7 but I would loose video in the meantime.

It's getting worse so I decided to check what could be the issue. After closer inspection I can see that one of the pins of the battery plug is becoming black like it's kinda showing signs of overheating or being burnt? And then same pin gets black in all the baterries that I'm using.

Is it possible that new motors that have been installed are too powerfull for the ESC? Or maybe there is something else causing it?

Here are some pictures of the pins

it seems there goes to much current throw the connector.

its more kv, the will draw a little bit more current, that should match anyway. another connector would help, but the source might be somewhere else. if you add another connector it could be a risk to fry something until you figured out tve issue.

maybe something else doesnt match, the pid tune is bad for that kv? do you get hot motors?
do you own smaller batteries, get the same behavior on their connectors?

The PH2.0 connector is only rated for 30 mating cycles. They're notorious for wearing out fast and being poor at moving current. I won't personally use them anymore.

Thanks guys for help.

30 cycles on PH2.0 connections would make sense as I did way more than that. It could be the case.

Motors are not getting hot. I'm not sure about the pid tune as I never done that yet. Interesting thing is that only 450mah batteries seems to have burnt pin. It's not the case for 650mah ones. The only other thing that happened is my vtx antenna got broken and I was flying few packs until I realized there is a damage and replace it. That could cause it also you think ?

Thanks again. I keep on flying and new PH2.0 connectors are on the way from chinaland Smile
