How is Pagoda compared to TBS triumph?
Pagoda VS Triumph Antenna |
02-Nov-2017, 08:43 PM How is Pagoda compared to TBS triumph? 02-Nov-2017, 08:43 PM The differences are mainly price and performance. You can't find cheaper antennas than the Pagoda for the performance it provides. However The Triumph is more durable and performs better than the Pagoda IMO. I find the Pagoda has terrible penetration, which I hate. Stick with triumph for high multipathing environments. If your flying in an open park by yourself stick with the pagoda. I've started flying the ufl ax-ii and this is the best antenna I've used for any situation. 02-Nov-2017, 08:44 PM It depends on the purpose and what type of flying you do .... I ran TBS Triumph last week i now run the emax pagoda, because i ran out of tbs and the pagodas didn't get bought to sit on the desk . performance is the same TBH for the flying i do (racing and light freestyle) the price for performance beats the tbs hands down . 03-Nov-2017, 11:04 AM Here's a proper opinion and some proper objective testing to answer that question from someone who knows what he is talking about. 03-Nov-2017, 02:38 PM I think I just became convinced to try a pagoda (I have a couple of triumphs already) carl.vegas Current Quads: Operational: Diatone GT2 200 In need of repair: Bumble Bee, tehStein, Slightly modified Vortex 250 (03-Nov-2017, 02:38 PM)Carl.Vegas Wrote: I think I just became convinced to try a pagoda (I have a couple of triumphs already) They're the only FPV antennas I use on my quads now. The MenaceRC versions with the plastic case are more durable than the ones where the PCBs are left exposed and the designer has tweaked the design so that the antenna is still properly tuned after adding the plastic case. There's a wealth of information on Maarten's site about them: http://www.maartenbaert.be/quadcopters/a...a-antenna/ If you fancy buying some connectors and some RG402 cable, Simon at fishpepper.de has put up some great info and a file which you can use to have enough PCBs manufactured, including an assembly jig to make 60 Pagoda antennas for $25. See: http://fishpepper.de/2017/10/06/pagoda-3...r-edition/ Hard to beat! 08-Nov-2017, 05:53 AM (03-Nov-2017, 03:00 PM)unseen Wrote: They're the only FPV antennas I use on my quads now. I went with the DIY method. They barely failed when you shrink wrap the PCB. I think I have only managed to destroy one. I have enough for over 150 left. I made that much thinking I would break more. Now I have antennas for life. I have TBS also. I don't really see much of a difference in performance. |
