This thing flys so smooth! But I am having a little trouble regarding my osdoge, ubad 250 and H1177 camera. I have the cam and the vtx going into the osdoge, when I connect power I dont get video and the osd in the goggles I see black; if I cycle threw channels I can see snowy images. Now I unplug the power and plug it in again and I can see the video/osd like everything is normal. I have checked the vtx, camera which are fine. The osdoge doesnt have any cold solder joints. Im powering straight off the pdb. I am running scarab-osd-R1.5 firmware with pal selected (cam I have is pal) I am thinking this might be a firmware problem but am reaching out to see if anyone else has the same issues. This is the first time using a osdoge, I like how clean it looks but am getting a little frustrated, my other builds with no osd are great, I thought this might make tuning a little easier. Thoughts? Thanks for any imput • Posts: 5,323 Threads: 674 Likes Received: 3,161 in 1,748 posts Likes Given: 2,034 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 139 I have not used any of the components you listed, but i can try to help... So if I understand you right, you power on your FPV setup (VTX, OSD, Camera), and then you power on your FPV goggle, you only see snow in all channels. Then you power off FPV gear, and power on again, and it works? • Posts: 29 Threads: 4 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 3 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 0 17-Jan-2016, 04:10 AM (This post was last modified: 17-Jan-2016, 04:19 AM by Fly4props.) Un plug the lipo and plug it back in and boom picture in the goggles. I was flying today third lipo and the quad had a total reset so its on the bench until I can figure this out. Oscar I power the whole ship when I plug the lipo in. Now I am thinking a main power line but I have been wiggling wires and everything is working .....that is until I get it in the air (over a big muddy area ) Thanks for the reply Oscar https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1575...215225.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1575...215146.jpg (17-Jan-2016, 04:10 AM)Fly4props Wrote: (17-Jan-2016, 02:35 AM)Oscar Wrote: I have not used any of the components you listed, but i can try to help... Can't you try changing that on the OSD? I know you can on minimosd though • Posts: 29 Threads: 4 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 3 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 0 18-Jan-2016, 02:36 AM (This post was last modified: 18-Jan-2016, 02:38 AM by Fly4props.) I know you can on minimosd though Hey Oscar, My sony h1177 that I got is a pal camera. are vtx's pal or ntsc or can they switch, I know my goggles can. I did a complete tear down last night and I saw some dry pin headers so I patched everything up, charged my batteries and took it for a fly......2 min in and I lost the video. I did throw a meter on it , when I have video I have 11.84 volts when there is no video 7.84. So I am hoping the regulator is bad, I just wish for the genie to pop out so I can say this is the problem. I hate trying to diagnose an intermittent problem thanks so much Oscar for getting back! Im liking the new message boards just a thought , I have my rx right above my vtx any chance that is interfering? • Posts: 29 Threads: 4 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 3 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 0 Hey Oscar, I took your advice and in the osd firmware I put it on NTSC. The box for the camera says PAL but at this point Ill try anything. Woohoo just in time for the snow!! • Posts: 5,323 Threads: 674 Likes Received: 3,161 in 1,748 posts Likes Given: 2,034 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 139 also the goggles detect NTSC/PAL at start up, if you power on your goggle first you might find it displaying the wrong one... maybe try powering on your quad first see if that makes a different just to rule out that possibility? • Posts: 29 Threads: 4 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 3 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 0 thanks for the help Oscar. I tried changing to NTSC and that didnt work, now a new problem arose. I took off all my fpv gear and was hovering in the garage, landed it and I had a total shut down of my FC and osdoge total darkness for 15 seconds then every thing booted back up. I guess ill be ripping this new build down. Funny thing is I tried another 3 packs without fail ! ugh! • Posts: 27 Threads: 4 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 1 How are you powering the OSD and VTX? • Posts: 29 Threads: 4 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 3 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 0 (19-Jan-2016, 10:36 AM)Jason Wrote: How are you powering the OSD and VTX? Hi Jason, I am powering the osdoge off the PDB witch is powering the the Naze32 , vtx and the camera. I might try one thing and power the vtx off the pdb too. But then Im not using the LF. And yesterday just doing a hover in the garage without the camera and the vtx connected the naze and the osdoge just blacked out on me. • Posts: 27 Threads: 4 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 1 • Posts: 29 Threads: 4 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 3 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 0 (19-Jan-2016, 04:15 PM)Jason Wrote: Which PDB are you using? Im using the PDB from the alien , so it is straight to the battery. Jst plug is coming off the PDB that goes to the osdoge. • Posts: 27 Threads: 4 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 1 Ah so it basically just gets VBATT? From everything I have read about this osdoge it has a power regulator that is supplying the vtx with 12 volts and I have the camera on the 5 volts. I put a meter on those leads and they are all registering what they are suppose to. The one thing though I am getting 4.89 volts to the naze and 4.89 volts to the camera (19-Jan-2016, 05:19 PM)Jason Wrote: Ah so it basically just gets VBATT? So the naze was trying to act like a f3 processor . So I took off everything that deals with the sbus telemetry and doing test hovers I am not shutting down and I am not losing video. Though I still need more testing outside since everything can go south when I am flying outside over the mud puddles. Thanks for the help guys !!! • |
