On top of that, the stats screen wouldn’t show on disarm. Unplugged, waited a second, and plugged back in, everything was normal? Hasn’t Happened the rest of the day, but am worried it would cut off mid flight, which I guess isn’t the end of the world, but is very stressful. Any thoughts? • Posts: 12,098 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 OSD chip might be going bad. Really hard to say for sure. • Posts: 5,325 Threads: 675 Likes Received: 3,162 in 1,749 posts Likes Given: 2,034 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 140 did that disappear during flight? could be voltage spikes in the power caused by the motor and ESC. have you added any caps to the build yet? So it was this sequence, but hasn’t happened since. landing, disarm,(osd gone) arm, takeoff, land, disarm, battery pulled and re plugged in(osd back on) I believe it already has a cap on it, but I could be mistaken. • Posts: 32 Threads: 5 Likes Received: 12 in 12 posts Likes Given: 17 Joined: May 2017 Reputation: 0 07-Jun-2018, 02:48 PM (This post was last modified: 07-Jun-2018, 02:49 PM by kase04.) If it happens when you throttle up its noise related I think. Add a capacitor and try to feed the cam from the VTX if you can, and use the ground pads in the "CCTV circuit" it helped me a lot with the OSD noise. Hope I explained well... • Posts: 252 Threads: 42 Likes Received: 90 in 64 posts Likes Given: 184 Joined: Apr 2018 Reputation: 3 (07-Jun-2018, 02:48 PM)kase04 Wrote: If it happens when you throttle up its noise related I think. It was when the quad was disarmed, but has happened when armed as well. I need a new fc I think. I THINK i can hold out until next payday, but have a couple other things already spoken for cost wise. With a fc potentially going bad, should I bench the quad? • Posts: 2,410 Threads: 136 Likes Received: 1,790 in 1,052 posts Likes Given: 3,302 Joined: Jan 2017 Reputation: 50 (10-Jun-2018, 03:14 AM)Jakefpv Wrote: It was when the quad was disarmed, but has happened when armed as well. If it is flying fine and there aren't any signs or eratic flight. If it is just the OSD I would personally keep flying. Check all of your solder points for the cam and vtx on the FC as well. Could just be a bad solder or broken wire, cold joints will do funny stuff too. Will be flying low risk low speed/altitude until my new frame comes in (that I order next payday, so I have a week and some change) and once it arrives, I’ll check all solder points. Could be the vtx, because it’s wrapped in electrical tape and I haven’t actually seen the solder points on that. Everything else solder wise looks just fun. Won a decent frame and traded it for new fc and cam, so shouldn’t be an issue at this point now • Posts: 12,098 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 Camera should not affect your OSD. If you lost camera signal, you should still see OSD with black background. • Posts: 56 Threads: 15 Likes Received: 11 in 9 posts Likes Given: 4 Joined: Dec 2017 Reputation: 1 one of my matek fc did that. i had it set to auto in betaflight gui, i switched to ntsc and has not happened since. • Posts: 252 Threads: 42 Likes Received: 90 in 64 posts Likes Given: 184 Joined: Apr 2018 Reputation: 3 Ok so update, I’m in the process of my first Build. Essentially using some old parts, and I won a frame which I traded for a less gold frame and a nib Bardwell F4 v1.3. Hopefully this solves my issues with osd, as my f3 board after further inspecting was trashed. 3 ripped up pads and sketchy wiring. • |
