Has anyone tested this FC ? Any advice or concern ? I expect to receive it tomorrow, worst case, Wednesday. Example, SBUS, telemetry, and smartaudio. I also wanted to let you know that you bought a clone. Hi, I also bought this board. https://www.banggood.com/BF3_1_5-Omnibus...ds=myorder (be sure to read the reviews/comments) BF Wiki: https://github.com/betaflight/betaflight...-OMNIBUSF4 I'm not sure if I have a clone but anyway, I am missing cables with this board... And I'm still figuring out how to connect everything... Will update this thread tonight with pictures. • Posts: 12,099 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 (26-Jun-2017, 07:01 AM)grmbl Wrote: Hi, I also bought this board. https://www.banggood.com/BF3_1_5-Omnibus...ds=myorder (be sure to read the reviews/comments) BF Wiki: https://github.com/betaflight/betaflight...-OMNIBUSF4 I'm not sure if I have a clone but anyway, I am missing cables with this board... You can get it here. http://shop.myairbot.com/index.php/ • Posts: 2,286 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,527 in 995 posts Likes Given: 1,881 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 72 If you didn't buy an Omnibus from MyAirBot or one of their dealers, then you do have a clone. The quality of the clones can be quite variable. It's funny that even the cloners don't supply you with any cables! The sockets are all JST-SH except for the one that's used for a DSM2/DSMX satellite receiver which is a JST-ZH. It does depend a lot on what kind of radio gear you use, but flight controllers based on the F3 MCU are generally a safer bet than those based on the F4. That being said, I've used an Omnibus F4 AIO (without the current sensor) in my Armadillo build and it works very well. • Posts: 12,099 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 If you are running Frsky, I would stick to F3. Mostly due to all UARTs have inversion. I currently like telemetry and smartaudio. I also have a F4 and to me, I really don't see the difference in actual flight. I do like the design of some of the newer F4 boards (eg. Matek f405 and PDB). For me, I would pick a board for ease of built, versus increase processor. Just my predictions, but I don't think F4 boards will not become as popular as F3. Likely F7 will esclipse F4 before too long. • Posts: 155 Threads: 29 Likes Received: 36 in 28 posts Likes Given: 68 Joined: Apr 2017 Reputation: 0 Hey guys thanks for your inputs here. Regarding the Clone, I'm aware, 99% (if not 100%) of FCs you find in China are clones. You think worth upgrading my SP Racing F3 ? If I read your sentence correctly, it will not take more space. You just need to tap into the non-inverted signal on the XSRs or X4R. If you are using a different rx, then it might be more difficult. And your suggestions is valid. My point is, F4 doesn't offer much of a performance benefit over F3 that mire mortal like myself can differentiate. For most people, going from F3 to F4 is probably not worth it. |
