odd yaw issues :((
#1
Question
Hi guys, recently built my first quad from scratch (tyro119) after a year or so flying and repairing bnfs, and I'm having some issues.

I built it and it worked absolutely amazingly for at least 30 packs and did some long range, but one day I went to fly and it had some very odd yaw issues; basically, when I yaw, the quad might yaw as normal or it might not yaw at all, but then execute it maybe 1-2 seconds later, or not even do it all!

It doesn't seem to matter what position the yaw stick is in either. Things like pitch, roll and throttle are all smooth and work as normal. I had a similar issue like this with another quad and turns out it was a faulty fc, but the gyro wasn't responding on that quad (but on this one it is responding).

Heres the things I've tried so far:

  • Different props
  • Resoldering my receiver connections
  • Calibrating the accelerometer
  • Checking the controller on another quad (it works fine)
  • Calibrating my taranis

I'm really stumped at this, I hadn't changed anything whatsoever, the gyro tab and receiver tab in betaflight is responding as normal.

I took my dvr and put it into a video here;

so you can see what I mean, it sort of looks like a odd failsafe but I know its not.

I would also look at blackbox, but there isn't one.

Has anyone got any ideas? Probably needs a new fc and that's what I deserve ordering from banggood haha

thanks in advance !!

sounds wired, seems you mention well in terms of troubleshooting.
a spare fc is allways nice if it wont be the issue ;-)

i would add an additional capacitator for a try

Have you tried reflashing firmware?

just tried it, and nothing!!

I'll try contacting banggood customer service since I had surprisingly helpful results last time I used them when my tinyhawk came with a broken VTX (they sent me a whole new tinyhawk without asking me to send it back)
