newbie build. Is there anything that im missing?
#1
Hello everyone!

Im new into fpv and this forum. I planning on buying:
-iFlight Evoque F5 DeadCat 6s with crossfire and CADDX Nebula Pro Vista
-Radiomaster zorro with crossfire
-DJI FPV goggles v2
-Some 1300mAh 130C 6S Lipo batts and a charger

Is there anything more that im missing? Is everything compatible with each other? How extensive will the setup process be? What range can I expect in perfect conditions? I also want to make sure that the camera is 120 fps

Sorry if these questions are too obvious
Thank yall for answers♥

Nothing stands out as incompatible and yes the Nebula Pro is 120fps. Not sure if the Caddx Nebula (without Pro) is still available but that was 60fps. Regarding range your Crossfire setup will run longer distance than the DJI video will. Perfect conditions is in the middle of nowhere with no competing frequencies being broadcast and line of sight. Otherwise there are a ton of variables when it comes to range and penetration due to construction materials, density of vegetation and even how dry/wet it is.

Missing: spare props, battery cell checker, tools for prop nuts and disassembling frame.

Tools and lots of props are already on my list. How necessary is the battery cell checker?

Handy for in the field since we're in some cases purposely crashing these things. A charger can do it too but I don't carry that with me. It gives you a quick snapshot of total voltage of the battery and what each cell shows. While a volt meter can tell you all this it's a little more tedious to use for checking each cell rather than have it all on one display. Will get more handy as you get more batteries and if you do parallel charging.

U don’t need a “dedicated” checker, I have 2 “battery alarms”(they plugged into the balance port and u could set the alarm to beep when the voltage reached a certain level-it had 2 loud beepers u could hear when u flew). I used them when my quad had a f3 fc w/o a osd)… when I went to a f4 w osd .. just filled the beepers with hot glue..)these are like $5

Has it got a beeper on it? If not, fit one. Vifly make some good ones with batteries that will beep even if you crash and eject your battery. If you can face the soldering, fit a decent GPS/compass combo (I find the Matek M8Q-5883 very good https://www.hobbyrc.co.uk/matek-gps-module-compass) and the Vifly GPSMate. You can then have Lat long in your goggles, record your flights on your goggle DVR and then you will have a record of where it last was. Taking it further, if you calibrate the compass properly, you can set up GPS rescue which at least will bring it roughly back to you if you use Betaflight or even auto-land back at your location if you move onto iNav or ArduCopter. Otherwise, you look as if you have a good setup - good luck!
