#1
For those doing long range I did this review comparison of a really good Li-ion battery from fpvcyle.com  Check it out:

That's a good deal.  GNB makes great batteries especially lightweight batteries.  The thing is the battery you gave me a link to is  a LIPO and has 100C rating which means it can output close to 450 amps max.  The battery I test is a Li-ion battery and the maximum power output would only be 40-45 amps.  so for long range this is perfect. technically, I can go over 20 minutes of flight with a Li-ion since you can discharge down to 2.5 volts per cell.  I only did the test down to 3.0 volts so the video won't be so long and the Sony tends to fade quicker below 3.0 volts.  For LR 20 minutes is great but with a LIPO with 100C rating, it would be tough to get a flight that long.

i think you does not understand how this works

100c is MAX discharge current so 450a

there is nothing wrong if you will use only 10c - 45a
or 5c - 22.5a
it is even better for battery - it will survive a lot longer and have probably 0 heat when you will be using only 10% of it max amps posibility
if you have 20min on this 4000mah then you would have +- 23-24min on this 4500mah

and when you will want to be hard on sticks or have bigger mottors etc
then this lion will not be able to give more current
and this lipo will be.
this is only diference
and this 40g of weight also Wink

run it to a lower voltage doesnt truly help, important is the capacity. it is better on a a lipo which has a lower range of voltage during discharge. liion isnt a benefit from this point of view.

the benefit of liion is just batterweight per capacity, for slow cruising/range only, everything else is worse.

I did the video and the outcome was great for me. My intention was not for Freestyle (no freestyle in the video). This battery had the same amount of power throughout the flight. So for long range, I prefer this battery. But thanks for your input.
