Perhaps you could get the Apple Books version? They added it on there last week

Hey man, this is Christian, the author. Thanks for your interest in my work! If you have an iPad or a MacBook, the digital version is up on Apple Books right now.

Yeah Vik's a cool guy and one of my favorites, I mention him a few times in the book. It was really nice of him to feature it on his latest video like that. I had no idea he was going to do it. I really like his in-depth trick tutorials and I wish more pilots would put out that kind of content! It gets so tiresome watching the millionth review of the same new goggle/motor/FC, blah blah blah lol.

(05-Jan-2021, 04:07 PM)VespulaFPV Wrote: Hey SnowLeopard, this is Christian Mollica, the author. Thanks for giving the book a little shoutout! And yeah, I was careful with the type of material to include and how to present it, because a book is a very static medium and FPV is a very fast-moving hobby. So I avoided diving too deep into the technical specifics of hardware and kept most of that content top-level.

The meat of the book is really devoted to learning how to fly FPV multirotors in Acro, and in that regard I was also careful to talk about those concepts in such a way that they'd have the most staying power over time.

As far as the price goes, I'm not thrilled with it either. Long story short, a book like this with such niche subject material being sold to a market that's as small as the current FPV community means it has to be self-published. I shopped it around to a few traditional publishing houses, but they're just not willing to take a chance on something that has zero mass-appeal. So I decided to go through Amazon's KDP service, where they print the book on-demand for each order. A 280-page, full-color interior textbook with an 8.5x11" trim size is not cheap to produce (about $21/copy to be exact). I don't mind being fully transparent and telling you that out of that $49.99 sticker price, only about $9 goes back to me as a royalty, the rest goes to Jeff Bezos lol.

Anyway, thanks again for your interest in it and posting about it. If you ever decide to pick up a copy and give it a read, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. Reach me directly at [email protected].

Salut, je rêve sûrement mais une version française serait vraiment top.
Ou bien en espérant une sortie en ebook pour pouvoir traduire.
Mais quoi qu'il arrive, bravo, très beau travail.

Delivered just a little while ago. I've only flipped through the pages. It's clear that a LOT of work went into the book.

Looking forward to sitting down and digging in!

Hey Oscar! Your blog helped me out a lot when I started this hobby years ago, thanks for all the help! And as far as flying like Mr. Steele goes, well I know that you're only joking, but actually I wanted to write the book in such a way where it would be even better than flying like Steele... it would help the pilot to find their own voice and ultimately get them to fly like the best version of themselves. Teach a man to fish, you know?

Thanks for picking up a copy! I really do appreciate your support. And yeah, I estimate there's anywhere between 2,200 - 2,500 hours worth of work in that thing. Between brainstorming content, writing, editing, fleshing out diagrams/illustrations, and then ultimately laying everything out onto pages... it was certainly a bear. But personally it's the most satisfying thing I've managed to accomplish yet. I hope you enjoy it!

Yes, or, well... I was at one time lol. I played a lot in my teens and early twenties, but life sometimes gets in the way of your passions, and sadly I haven't picked it up in years. But the lessons I learned from the electric guitar really guided my progress as an FPV pilot. And while I can't shred a six-string anymore, I can shred a miniquad, and I'm happy to feel so deeply connected to an instrument again.

I started in my teens but it's a hobby I haven't given up.  Here's the end result after decades of playing.
I had been playing in a more casual band as lead guitar until COVID. I really miss it.
