To me it's more disrespectful to tell someone how they should or shouldn't speak.

Regardless, if it's a rule then I will abide it the best I can simply because this forum is really good and I don't wanna get banned or anything.

m0nk444, you might want to have a look at the rules yourself. If I were you, I would re-read some of the posts above, and maybe reconsider...

bLoWsMokE, welcome to the forum - thanks for adjusting!

Ah, good then. That has been my goal since you randomly inserted an opinion I happened to disagree with. We have a lot in common I think.

SloScotty thanks. I am reluctant about forums in general, but this hobby has a distinct lack of specific info asking questions in a forum seems necessary.

I mean I love forums, usually I have a question, I google it and someone else has already answered that question in a forum and enough people have looked that specific question on google that it's right there at the top of a search. Thumbs Up

With this hobby just about every question I have is so rare that I can't find an answer. And the questions I have are usually so convoluted it's impossible to ask on google in the first place.

I didn't show up throwing F bombs.... I won't apologize for stating I don't like somebody based off their inconsiderate/foul language. I know how to conduct myself just fine. If you can't handle what I said....ban me now guy and I'll move on.

A few things though.... how is the latency? Also, how are they powered? Is there anything in them that can die that you can't replace which would make them useless? And i'm also curious about whether or not it's a single screen inside or 2 screens?

It is a single screen, the box goggle is huge and has a very immersive feeling.   I'm 12 months noob to the hobby and don't own fatsharks so to me latency is excellent - I think latency is more a camera thing as I have used caddx and runcam and found the caddx cam a bit laggy (when configured poorly to the environment, ie: turtle v2 FPV cam lags if the auto white balance settings are having trouble with the sun/overcast/cloud).

Mine are yet to fail and have survived an aussie summer.  The patch antenna that comes with it is a bit loose where the sheath meets the SMA connector from all the screwing and unscrewing going on.   They are tricky to transport with the antennas attached, hence the screw/unscrew action drives wear and tear.

New info to me - voodoo has noticed that the stock batt can be easily replaced with a higher capacity lipo batt to improve battery life before charging.  I must admit that I need to charge it each time I finish an fpv session of 4-5 packs.  Also, voodoo has stated that when the EV800D goes to (approx.) 50% capacity on the battery that's powering it that the actual RX performance of the goggle deteriorates.   A higher capacity batt mod = overall increased RX performance - or that's the take away I interpreted and I'm keen to give it a go!

The face sponge hasn't deteriorated yet and I fly every few days on average for the last several months.

I'll go look at some reviews as well. And you guys are saying the ev800D... I have to make sure it's the 800D and not just the ev800 right? The ev800D means diversity I assume? Then yeah ok definitely the D.

Yes, EV800D that is the model with diversity receiver and DVR function.  I own both 800 and 800D, don't waste your time with the 800.

I'm VERY anxious to try FPV man. I been in this hobby for like a month and a half now and I still haven't even TRIED FPV so I have no experience at ALL other than a simulator. I want to do FPV so badly it hurts xD  LOL is awesome and the freestyle is limitless and i think I'll always prefer LOS freestyle to FPV freestyle but MAN for the PILOT himself, FPV has to take the cake when it comes to fun and immersion!

Well you'll love the EV800D then, just don't get too baked and stand up whilst doing it.  sit down if you get the dizzies...

Like i said I have a frame coming in now and a few more batteries and I also got a new receiver (I was using an FSia6B on an HGLRC XJB 145 3 inch haha so I got a much smaller receiver finally too) so i can't afford the goggles... again. I finally save enough to get the goggles but then I have to repair all these other things so.... back to the grind. I'll do it eventually!!!! I'll let you guys know the progress.

Still trying to figure out a way to record my LOS flights on my own. I mean, no one where I live even KNOWS about this stuff and when i tell them they don't really care, so trying to get someone to record my flights would be basically impossible.  And TBH I don't really know anyone who could afford this hobby in the first place.... including myself. But I wanted this hobby so badly I found a way! I don't know anyone else who gets obsessed like I do xD

Strap your smartphone to your head - works for me Thumbs Up

Basically we're all to believe you only watch PG movies because you get SERIOUSLY offended from "foul inconsiderate" language.

Thanks man. And I won't get too baked I can pretty much assure you of that.

I'll tell you what. I've smoked every single day without fail, nor missing a single day for at least 8 years (I went like 4 months without it about 9 years ago due to... well issues) until about a month ago when i got this drone.

Since I started flying I literally have smoked like 3 or 4 times. (I started like a month ago, maybe a little more). The drone helps, but it's mostly because I sometimes got crazy anxiety issues but it never happened so badly I cared too much until recently. It's crazy but I've just about quit altogether. I think it's unfortunate cuz now I smoke WAYY more cigarettes!!! Before I could not STAND the taste of tobacco after smoking bud so I just didn't smoke cigs much.

BTW I live in Massachusetts it's a legal state here. So I'm not talking about anything illicit.... well, for me anyway ;D

And I will go with the EV800d's when I finally save the money. Unless you wanna get them for me  Cool
