My TP3 and a 1S-3S DarwinFPV board question
#16
Well, this little guy has gone squirrelly on me again. I've only had it out twice this summer but I seem to recall it was acting odd when I put it away last. It started out flying fine though. I brought it on a hunting trip. I jacked my back up and stayed in. It's a cattle ranch owned by some friends. It gave me a chance to fly a little higher and further than I usually do. There was on-board dvr footage, but I forgot to save before unplugging. The returning hunter is my buddy's, kid's friend... I feel old.

I had two batteries with me and put them on to charge. When I went to fly again, I started getting fly-aways. I'd drop throttle to zero and fly around until it sorted itself or it was convenient to fly close to the ground and disarm.  When I looked it over, it was missing a nut on the stack. Okay, I replaced it and checked FC gummies and spacing. Nope... The next day I pulled it out to try again. Shortly after I took off, it unexpectedly cocked and did a 360 yaw spin.

The guys thought it was a great trick. I, however, was not amused. This time, two opposing motors were screaming hot. The prop on one was much easier to spin. I haven't been using screws and figured the wind and higher speeds were causing prop slippage... Also not problem. When I got home I put screws in and it immediately tried to fly away again.

Normally, I would pull the props off and run each motor up in BF and look for issues... but I'd have to completely disassemble the drone to solder a usb adapter to the board. Thoughts? I think I'm going to look for a filter slider I can get to with the BF lua script. Maybe I can just bring more filtering in? Hmm. Maybe the gyro is dying?  I *have* abused it.
