Motor power stop and restart
#1
Hello,

I bought a combo pack Hobbywing omnibusF4SD, I setup everything correctly but I have the following problem when I put some throttle, motors are going faster and stop then faster and stop and so on and so on.

I join a link to a short video in order to demostrate the problem as well as the black box report. The problem is clearly shown on the blackbox explorer at the bottom.
Note: When testing moteurs under betaflight, it seems ok.

Your help will be really appreciate, I need it !

If you need more details in order to troubleshoot, don't hesitate to ask me !

For the video, I wanted to mentioned that it has been realize exceptionnaly in order to demonstrate clearly the problem; we had helmet protection with glasses protect !

Hope having replies ;-)

Does it only do this when you are holding the quad? If yes then it will likely both be the PID loop getting confused because the flight controller is commanding a particular attitude of the quad but you are stopping it from doing what it wants by holding onto it, so the PID loop will be trying to correct things to rectify the situation which fails because you are holding onto it. Does it do the same if you do a test hover without holding onto it?

BTW, it's really not advisable to hold onto a quad like that with props spinning because if you accidentally let go it can cause some serious injuries that could require a hospital trip and stitches. A helmet and glasses don't protect your hands or body. Always get into the habit of testig the behaviour of motors on the bench or in your had with the PROPS OFF. If you need to test it with props on then strap it down securely and stand well away from it.

I would do a hover and see if it flies.

I've done it but it behaves the same, I can't hold the done stable.

When you say you can't hold the drone stable, do the motors still cut out and restart like when you are holding it, or do you mean it just seems fidgety in the air? I don't know what your flying experience you have because you didn't say, but if you're brand new to the hobby then it might just be that you're not used to flying a quad in Acro (Rate) Mode or the sensitivity of the throttle. Also keep in mind that none of these quads have position or altitude hold so you need to manually learn to balance the throttle and attitude of the quad when it's in the air.

If you switch to flying in Angle Mode, and just take off vertically, what does it do?

Maybe post a video of the issues is exhibits when you try to hover it.

It's my son who is the pilot and he knows to do it :-) I assist him for the time being but I think I will practice soon :-)

I found that when the vtx is connected, the drone flight is ok

The VTX I use is : AKK X2-ultimate International 25mW/200mW/600mW/1200mW 5.8GHz 37CH FPV Transmitter with Smart Audio.

When I put back the vtx on my FC the problem appears again. I notice in the glasses the message 'RX LOSS' ?

Did you have already hear about this message ?

a picture how you mount the vtx, the rc receiver and antennas could probably help. they should have as much distance as possible.

you should get a few meter distance between the drone and the transmitter, to get a clean rc signal for sure.

rx loss means the transmitter doesnt have conection to the receiver on the drone, no controllability.
