Having an issue that is driving me nuts. I have a new Shocker Tank frame I’ve been waiting to start on, and now that the holidays are over I finally got the time to work on it. So I got everything soldered and connected and checked it with a smoke checker and had no issues, so I went ahead and put it completely together, then checked again to verify all was good, except this time I get the light that there was a problem. I took it apart down to the flight controller and checked and cleaned up soldering etc, and still got the light on my smoke checker. I went ahead and took it completely apart. I checked the ESC for continuity and and did the smoke checker check and no problem, no light. I used my multi meter and checked each motor at the ends of the wires where they would normally be soldered to the ESC pads, and got good readings on all four, appearing that they were all good motors. Next I soldered everything back up, taking extra time and precautions to make sore the solder points were good. Once all connected I hooked up my smoke checker again, and as before I get the light as if something is shorted. There’s nothing obvious that would point to an issue, so not sure what else the problem could be. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

What kind of smoke stopper are you using? Light bulb or solid state?

How bright was the bulb? You only have an issue if the bulb lights up really brightly. It is always going to light up a bit when current passes through it to power the FC, and the more things you have wired up the more current is going to be drawn from the LiPo through the bulb.

It wasn't extremely bright, more dull yellow not a bright white. That was the first time it had ever lit up, so I didn't leave in plugged in long just to make sure.

In that case everything sounds fine to me. It's just normal current draw flowing through the bulb filament causing it to glow which is expected.
