Lost signal and GPS mode failsafe
#1
Hello all!!
Bad crash yesterday that killed my gopro 7Sad !!
Oh wellSmile

I lost signal on my quad (crossfire micro tx ) and the GPS rescue mode failsafe quicked in. However the quad jerked sideways a few seconds right after the rescue kicked in, so i panicked and disarmed the quad. I was trying out rpm filters and was scared of overheating(betaflight 4.1)

Please see below blackbox screenshot.
It seems that during the gps rescue, the quad recovered signal and that caused a strange jerky behavior. Is that normal? How to avoid that in the future? Did you ever have crossfire fail on you at short distance? ( i am runing micro tx at 250mw and nano rx)
Should i order a diamond antenna for my radio? (Jumper t16)

Can't look at your BBL right now. But my best advice is to resist the urge to disarm. Instead, switch to Angle mode.

Ok i will check what angle mode is.

Toadd more details, my RLQY often drops below 50% when i am over 250 meters away. The crash happened when the quad was 200m away approx.
Is such a low figure normal?

I got crossfire cause i though it was safer, but now i feel like going back to futaba...

Unfortunately a static screenshot of the Blackbox log doesn't tell people too much. You would need to upload the complete log file.

While not impossible to get a failsafe with Crossfire, it's unusual unless you really do go out of range or fly in an area with a lot of obstructions which it doesn't look like from the video snapshot in your Blackbox log screenshot. Make sure the antennas are properly attached to both the Nano RX and the Micro TX and that the antenna is well away as possible from any carbon fibre or other electronics on the quad. Make sure the Crossfire firmware is also updated to the latest version.

If could also be due to heavy RF interference in the area. I assume you're running the Crossfire on the FCC 915MHz frequency (?)

Yes 915 MhZ.
I don’t have access to my log right now. I will send it in a few days sorry Sad

But what I see on the log is that the motors suddenly rev up suddenly when signal is recovered. Isn’t that strange, when gos rescue in on.

See mark up

Anyways the priority is to fix that reception issue.
