Haven’t decided yet, but the price is right for those. I was thinking 1607 or 18xx, but may be too tiny? Dangerous operations. Disclaimer: I don’t know wtf I’m talking about. Just look how narrow near motor holes. Asking for trouble. 2. For 5" ultralight, Apex1607 (On sale at pyrodrone.com), and RCinPower2104 are great choices... BUT.. if prop is too heavy or pitched, you will have untunable vibes. On 2104.. HQ 5030 FTW. 3. MUCH better stiffer frame option. I was thinking 1607 or 18xx, but may be too tiny? Hi Lemonyleprosy, Just a thought. Consider that BrotherHobby makes 2004 motors that weigh about 15g which is less than most 16xx or 18xx motors: VY 2004 Ultralite Motor 1950 at PyroDrone VY2004 2100kv at RDQ TC 2004 3150kv at RDQ Although I don't have any actual measure of the difference in performance characteristics, it looks to me like you get more motor for the same weigh. Have not flown my 5" in about forever, maybe this will bring back some of the fun for me in that size. I have 2306's on my 210H spinning really aggressive props, but I doubt this one will be able to handle that sort of grunt force. Plan is to build a rocket and enjoy the way I used to fly Thanks for posting the links! SoCal Kaity :D OMG, no one told me it would be this much fun! Addicted :) Posts: 6,160 Threads: 172 Likes Received: 2,299 in 1,845 posts Likes Given: 4,755 Joined: Feb 2019 Reputation: 103 09-Jan-2022, 11:09 PM (This post was last modified: 09-Jan-2022, 11:13 PM by hugnosed_bat.) PodRacer 5" sadly the tbs podracer is a weak frame design, its a shame... i tried it by myself; the original canopy has the rigidity of pla and its mounted on a 1,5mm plate, no durability at all. 3mm for 4inch seems total ok, im a bit curious too about 3mm and long 5inch arms and vibrations. on the otherhand its a frame from kababfpv; the "diva" itself xD i dont trust in all his judges, but i have a huge respect about framedesign, it needs to be decent :-) it might be all about weight; it will be rigid on a lightweight battery. the top is very tanky. spare arms might be good thing. intressted to hear your impressions kaity and lemony :-) but im optimistic to hear good things about that frame :-) dont miss to choose 12x12mm motormount motor Posts: 132 Threads: 4 Likes Received: 18 in 18 posts Likes Given: 10 Joined: Apr 2019 Reputation: 3 damn. missed the specials ![Sad Sad](https://intofpv.com/images/smilies/sad.png) i always come late to the party I only know that i know nothing • |
