So I'm not interested on the drone but want to try digital, is that possible?
Is there a way to buy the new remote controller and Goggles V2 without the drone? |

You can buy the V2 goggles in isolation as of now. For the controller you will either need to use the original DJI Controller (V1) or use your own transmitter and receiver for the RC link as you currently do with analogue quads. 13-Mar-2021, 11:14 AM (13-Mar-2021, 11:06 AM)SnowLeopardFPV Wrote: The new DJI Controller (V2) doesn't work with the DJI Air Unit and Caddx Vista but the DJI FPV Goggles V2 do. Oh really? They did that? That sucks... I dont' really like controller V1, too big for me... Ok thank you as always Snow, hope u are doing good have a nice day! 13-Mar-2021, 11:55 AM Yes, a lot of people are disappointed about that. DJI only appear to have made the V2 goggles compatible with the DJI Air Unit and Caddx Vista because manufacturing of the V1 goggles was discontinued. It is yet to be seen if DJI will continue to develop products for the standalone FPV system, or if they will abandon them in preference for their own line of consumer DJI FPV Drones going forward which have a much larger customer base and makes them far more money than the standalone FPV system products do. Only time will tell. The functionality of the V2 goggles are identical to the V1 goggles unless you are using them with the new DJI FPV Drone. They have dual boot firmware in them. For the new DJI FPV Drone they use a brand new firmware, and for the DJI Air Unit and Caddx Vista they use the same original firmware as in the V1 goggles. You boot the goggles into whichever firmware you need to make use of. The interface between the two firmwares look totally different. Also, to be clear, there is no video out functionality with the V2 goggles that was being rumoured before their release. That feature does exist, but only when the goggles are booted into the firmware for use with the new DJI FPV Drone. You don't get that feature when booting into the old (V1) firmware for use with the standalone FPV system. If you decide to get the V2 goggles and you want to get the most out of them with the DJI Air Unit and Vista, you will also need to buy some 5.8GHz antennas because the V2 goggles ship with dual-band antennas (2.4GHz/5.8GHz) which are designed for optimal performance with the new DJI FPV Drone. Those dual-band antenna will give worse performance when used with the 5.8GHz only Air Units and Vistas. |
