I have mostly flown LOS foamies and Flite Test planes, plus an Inductrix inside. I am just finishing my first FPV quad build based on core parts won at my club's monthly raffle! DRQ-250 "Mini-D" frame, T-motor 1806-2300 motor and ESC set, DTF UHF's DTFc flight controller / PDB. I added a RaceDayQuads Mach 2 VTX, RunCam Swift 2 flight cam, and FrSky XSR receiver. Running Taranis (X9D+) and have S.port telemetry from the FC, need to get Smart Audio to the VTX working next, as well as voice prompts for telemetry values and mode switches. Borrowed a simple Eachine headset while I figure out if I am any good at this stuff. See you on the forums! Would you like to share some build experiences, and some pictures? Somewhere in the (near?) future, I mean. In a separate thread. That would be awesome. Here to learn, you know Flying: S500 (self built), GDU Byrd, Heliway H902S, Hubsan H501S X4, GB X150, FuriBee GT90 Fire Dancer On the bench: Durafly Tundra, FuriBee F90 Wasp, Q380 (self built) • Posts: 2,286 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,527 in 995 posts Likes Given: 1,881 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 72 Welcome to the forum Adam! It sounds like you already have the building skills and you've already had some good practise with the Inductrix, so welcome to the next phase of the addiction! That would be awesome. Here to learn, you know Eric - I'll try to share soon, once I actually have some lessons learned. I'm sure much of it is basic to many folks, if new to me - but things change so fast in this area! The build is also a mix of slightly outdated and new components, but for my interests (mostly casual, more tuned to learning quad flight, maybe mild AP and proximity/acro) I think it will turn out fine. I suspect it will be reasonably light for a 250 setup. Adam Posts: 2,286 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,527 in 995 posts Likes Given: 1,881 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 72 Light is good. Old parts are not a problem unless you're trying to squeeze the last gramme of performance out of your motors and propellers. You may need to forego some fancy new flight controller functions and maybe not run things as fast as you otherwise could, but I have quadcopters that I built several years ago that still run Cleanflight 1.11 on an old Naze32 board and they fly just fine. • Posts: 1,013 Threads: 11 Likes Received: 452 in 349 posts Likes Given: 372 Joined: Dec 2017 Reputation: 16 • Posts: 3,288 Threads: 129 Likes Received: 2,740 in 1,644 posts Likes Given: 2,969 Joined: Apr 2017 Reputation: 65 Welcome to the most wonderful forum for FPV! Its also great to have a community to share your experiences and get feedback to help put your shattered confidence and your shattered quadcopter back together again after the inevitable crashes that are an inherent part of flying acro!
