Intermittent connecting between quad and controller after crash. Need help!
#1
I recently got into flying FPV and have been loving my TH Freestyle by Emax. I have finally ran into my first issue after a little over two weeks of flying all day every day.
After a minor tree crash I had at the park this morning, I noticed my controller wouldn’t bind to my quad. The video was coming through perfectly on my HDO’s but nothing on my controller.

I plugged the freestyle into beta flight and I can’t get the quad to connect for more than 5 seconds if at all. Wondering if someone can help point me in the right directing. I’ll start watching soldering videos now...

Sounds like possibly a bad connection. Hopefully.

Try to find where the receiver is connected and start there.

Good pics are always helpful too.

From what I’ve seen it looks like the receiver is built into the FC on the Tiny Hawk Freestyle.

See the little wire coming off in the red circle (grey on this one)

This is your RX antenna. Take a look to make sure it hasnt partly broken or been cut short.

Yeah it looks ok in your pictures, In this case it could be a damaged solder joint on the PCB. If it were mine I'd now go and heat up the whole board with my hot air station and re-flow everything or put it in the oven for a few minutes but you're probably better off asking for warranty or start looking for a replacement board. Generally speaking if something stops working after a crash you have a physically damaged component like this.
