Inside of Foxeer Lollipops
#1
Accidentally banged the lollipop omni antennas on my goggles against a door lol.  The cover on one of em popped off letting me see inside ...

I kinda like these Foxeer omnis. I got them only because I needed some stubbies in a pinch and Amazon had them with prime shipping. Now I use two of them at right angles on my goggles.

Interesting. I just assumed they were printed PCB/foil like the TrueRC Singularity. Here is a picture of that from when I accidentally banged mine too (which was actually really easy to do):

I guess that explains why the Foxeer one is larger.

That's what I thought too! I was kind of impressed when I saw inside.

Yes, the Lollipop 1's were.

The OP's photo is of a Lollipop 2. If you open a Lollipop 1 you will find that it's different to the Lollipop 2 but identical to the internals of the Lumenier AXII (i.e. a direct clone).

I believe that is one reason that Foxeer were forced/pressured into releasing a Lollipop 2 with a different internal design, because they got accused of blatantly ripping off the AXII.

Haha that's funny!
I just tested antennas (again) and found that Lollipop 1 is the best Lollipop Foxeer ever made Smile
Now that I found this infos here I see L1 is PCB (AXII) and 2 (and 3 also?) are SPW wires again.

Also: note that the stubbies apperantly have less performance in their "antenna null" then normal Lollies.

I assume this is the famous RCSchim of YouTube fame? Cool

I still have a V1 Lollipop on my 5" quad. It's a shame you can't get them anymore. I'd better be careful not to break it. I think people always assume that newer revisions of the same product are better, but I guess this proves that it's not always the case.

Thanks for sharing your antenna data. Very useful Thumbs Up

EDIT: I just watched your video that complements the Tableau data and I now understand what the "good" and "bad" orientation actually means Smile A link to your video is below so that others on here have a chance to watch it if they don't follow your channel. That was a lot of hard work and time spent, so thanks again for doing those tests and providing the data to the RC hobby community.
