I want to go digital with my nazgul5
#1
So I almost a year ago I bought my Nazgul5. I'm into cinematic FPV and learned a lot with it, changed some pieces like the FC and all that... but I want to go digital and increase my range.
This is my current analogic setup:

Frame: XL5 V4
ESC: iFlight 45A 2-6S BLheli_S DShot600 4In1 CES
FC: CLRACINGF7 MPU V2.1
VTX: AKK Race Ranger 5.8G
Motors: iFlight XING E 2207 2750KV 4S
Camera: Caddx Ratel
Receiver: Frsky XM+

From what I've read, I should change to this:

DJI Googles
TBS Crossfire Micro TX V2 for my QX7

Frame: XL5 V4
ESC: iFlight 45A 2-6S BLheli_S DShot600 4In1 CES
FC: CLRACINGF7 MPU V2.1
"VTX": Dji  FPV Air unit or Caddx Vista? (im not sure here id apreciate some help)
Motors: iFlight XING E 2207 2750KV 4S
Camera: Caddx Ratel
Receiver: TBS Crossfire Nano Receiver

(Should I change the ESC?)

What do you think? Am I missing something?

That looks fine. You don't need to change the ESC because you aren't changing any of the power train. You are only changing the video transmission system.

If you want to save weight and don't care for onboard 1080p recording (i.e. you intend to use a GoPro for 4K recording and the ability to use HyperSmooth or RealSteady Go) then get a Vista. The Vista is also smaller so easier to mount in a quad that wasn't originally designed for the larger DJI Air Unit. If you are happy with 1080p quality and don't want the extra weight of a GoPro on your quad then get the Air Unit. Just make sure the dimensions of it will fit somewhere inside your frame. Keep in mind that there are also a current known bug with the Air Unit firmware that causes "Slow SD Card" warnings and stops the Air Unit recording. This issue is still unfixed after appearing 9 months ago.

The Air Unit and Vista both come with a camera so you will no longer need your Caddx Ratel.

I don't think Air Unit will fit at the back of XL5 V4/V5 frame.

Found this video:

This guy is using the nazgul5 v1 with HD and on the video description you can see they keep selling the V1 with digital system (https://www.banggood.com/IFlight-NAZGUL5...ID=6281450)

It's using the Caddx Vista which is quite a bit smaller than the DJI Air Unit. The Vista will also fit in the back of the Nazgul5 V2 frame.

Okok, so I can carry on with the v1 nazgul5 frame with the caddx vista... I see they put the caddx vista on the back of the frame, but I got a capacitor there, is it ok it I don't use it?
In theory the capacitor reduce vibrations right?

If you are going to power the Caddx Vista directly from the LiPo voltage it is imperative that you use a capacitor. If you don't you can fry the RX and TX lines for the Betaflight OSD, and you can also get potential issues with the video feed. If the FC has an onboard voltage regulator you can connect the Vista to that, but I don't see one of those on the CL Racing F7 FC unfortunately.

Do you recomend to buy the goggles on banggood? I saw one post months ago saying that the googgles box was empty, i'm not sure if it was yours i'd say it was

That was me. Avoid B**g***d like the plague, certainly for any high value items. For peace of mind, get the goggles from a local vendor. You'll pay a bit more but you won't have any of the worry or stress if anything goes wrong, or if you end up with a faulty set of goggles.

EDIT: Also, be aware of the following thread...

Did you then find the way to put the vista in the V1 frame?
I'm trying to do the same thing.

Unfortunately the frame showed in the video is the V2, not the V1.
