Help building a new LR quad
#16
After doing some research, I think I Know exactly what I'm taking

HGLRC Mark4 7"
Racerstar AirA 2508 1200kv
HAKRC BLHeli_32 35A
Matek F722-SE
Caddx Ratel 2
AKK Race Ranger
Matek Systems M8Q-5883
VAS Ion Pro
Gemfan Flash 7042
r9mm (ELRS) with dipole antenna
and a few TPU Mounts for GPS, rx and tx.

Comes down to around 700~, I think that's good enough, and the motors have great efficiency with these props on 4S.

Hi,
build the quad capable for 4s and also 6s, ESC rating 3-6s. As an option Wink
6s lowers the amp, less battery abuse if you like to go faster or light freestyle things.
Avengers are very good in build quality, bearings ect., mine run about 300 flights and still very good.
I intalled 2 xt60 on my setup, so it goes with 2 packs 18650 or even with 2 1100mah 70c for fun.
VAS Ion Pro is a little short?, these 18650 batteries are in a magnetic hull. Antenna must be over the battery.
Try also 3-blade props

I actually thought about that idea of 4s and 6s, and after seeing your comment, I went back to the motors' charts

and it seems like it would make more sense to go 5s instead of 6s.
I'll probably fly an 1800mah 4s lipo pack before spot welding the li-ions, and I'll decide whether I want to go 5s or not.

I should have around 25~ minutes of hovering time, 5s should give me around 30~ minutes and I think a tiny bit more.
is the VAS Ion Pro too short? even the one that has 'long cable' in it's name?
which one should I take if not that one?
And why 3 blade props?

Hi,
6 batteries gives a nice rectangle packWink
Use ESC 3s-6s you can go with both and maybe your future freestyle buils use 6s batteries.
The single HAKRC ESC are only up to 5s...if single ESC may the Airbot Wraith32 V2 35A.
6s instead of 5s means 10wh more energie...20% more @ only 50g more weight

That's a very solid point, I'm going with the Airbot Wraith32 V2.1 35A.
I'm getting more performance @ 70g more weight, I'm using P42A's Smile

What about the long range antenna? I'm looking at the FOXEER Pegoda Pro 150mm 3dBi, do you think this one will suffice?
