#1
HI All,

I have just got a Gokou VTX 850 trying to get it working the a mamba f405 mk2  (https://flywoo.net/products/goku-hm600-5...microphone).
https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0010/7...1627960533.

I notice that this a RX IRC TRamp vtx, I have wiried it up as would normally wire up a any normal VTX. i havent switched the seril to RX tho do i need to ?, also no clear instructions on how to unlock it, i've tried to hold the button down for 6s or more and still cant see anything in my osd. has anyone used this vtx before ?

in the pic the circle is where ive installed it.

Under the Peripherals column in the Ports tab of Betaflight Configurator you need to select "VTX (IRC Tramp)" form the dropdown box for UART3 and then click the Save and Reboot button.

You will also need to run the following block of commands in the CLI to configure the VTX tables...

Code:
vtxtable bands 5
vtxtable channels 8
vtxtable band 1 BOSCAM_A A CUSTOM  5865 5845 5825 5805 5785 5765 5745 5725
vtxtable band 2 BOSCAM_B B CUSTOM  5733 5752 5771 5790 5809 5828 5847 5866
vtxtable band 3 BOSCAM_E E CUSTOM  5705 5685 5665 5645 5885 5905 5925 5945
vtxtable band 4 FATSHARK F CUSTOM  5740 5760 5780 5800 5820 5840 5860 5880
vtxtable band 5 RACEBAND R CUSTOM  5658 5695 5732 5769 5806 5843 5880 5917
vtxtable powerlevels 5
vtxtable powervalues 25 100 200 400 600
vtxtable powerlabels 25 50 100 200 850
save

Are you sure the GOKU HM850 VTX is locked? There is nothing in the documentation to suggest that it is.

Thanks snowleopard, I have already done this and used the vtx table supplied by the website for the vtx, do this only use raceband channel ? I’m away this week but plan to look at it over the weekend once I’m back home, I did the above as you said but just get a black screen, I’m also using a deiveristy pro 58 in my fatshark goggles, I’ve build a few quad and never really had a problem with getting the vtx working, just this one at the min, wasn’t sure if the rx irc tramp was different to and other irc tramp.

No, the VTX can use any one of the Boscam A, B or E channels, the FatShark channel (F), or the Raceband channel (R).

If you are getting a black image and assuming that you haven't accidentally left the lens cover on the camera then that is usually either an issue with the camera or the OSD chip on the FC. If you were tuned into the wrong channel or there is an issue with the VTX you would just get snow, not a black screen. Do you see any of the Betaflight OSD in your goggles? And is your Pro58 module actually switched on? Check that the module power switch on the bottom of your FatShark goggles isn't in the OFF position by accident.

As for the IRC Tramp protocol, there is only one version of that. The other protocol (TBS SmartAudio) works in a similar way but is a bit different. You just need to make sure you configure whichever protocol your VTX uses. In the case of the GOKU HM850 VTX it is IRC Tramp.

Hi the cover is definitely off the cam, I’ve had this fc working with another quad but with a unify pro race 2 vtx and foxxeer cam no problems, but when I’ve hook this new vtx and changed the protocol for irc tramp I get nothing, even in betaflight it still says device not ready in the video transmitter tab ( I also have the battery plugged in when checking this tab ) think this is the issue that I need to get it to say device working

First tell us: Are you getting a black screen? or snowy screen?

Is the VTX light on when you plug in the lipo?

Did you try using the buttons to set band channel?

Did you ever power the vtx without an antenna?

Did you try connecting the camera straight to the vtx?

Hi All,

Quick update I’ve had to change the stack due to running out of uarts, but wired the vtx and used the same vtx file it’s is now working first time, not sure what the problem was with the mamba, also didn’t need to unlock ? now to put the gap on ??

You may have a bad OSD chip on the old FC.

Not all vtx’s are locked and certainly not the Goku.

“now to put the gap on ??” Did you mean cap as in capacitor?

This is a pretty old thread but for future reference I want to add that the Goku VTX does need to be unlocked. You can find all information here:

The Goku HM600 VTX that comes with the Flywoo Explorer LR V2 4" has the 11 HAM frequencies locked. This video explains how to unlock the 11 frequencies. If not unlocked Smart Audio and Beta Flight will allow you to select one of the locked HAM frequencies, and the OSD will show that you are transmitting on the HAM frequencies, however, you are not. You are actually transmitting on the last unlocked frequency that you were using.

If you do not want to watch the video the process for unlocking the VTX is:

1. Plug in the battery;
2. Hold the button on the VTX until both red and yellow lights come on--about 10-15 seconds;
3. Release the button; and
4. Unplug the battery.

When you later plug in the battery the HAM frequencies will be unlocked.
