Thought
Frame: I don't like that the main frame because it comes in two pieces. You have to criss-cross the two pieces and used screws to fasten them together. They can still come apart until you put the metal cage and screw it down. It was a little bit annoying. I don't see why they could not just make the CF frame with one piece. I recently checked the website, and the frame is one piece now.
FC: I should of when with the F428 instead. More UARTs. I have to remap two pads with soft serial to get S. Port telemetry and VTX controls through CMS menu to work.
ESC: 25A is overkill.
VTX: Matek VTX had to be updated to work with softserial. Updating was easy but you have to use either FC passthrough or FTDI. It was difficult for me because everything was wired up already when I realized I needed a firmware update. If I have to do this again, I would have just bought the HGLRC VTX TX20 version 2 that fits on top of my stack cleanly. The Matek was a little too big for this build. I tried Tramp and TBS, they were similar size.
Camera: Solid video feed. Mounts perfectly.
Motors: The feel nice. Well built. I have not tested them on 4S yet. I realized after I solder everything and switch motor direction in BLHeliSuite that the motors came CW and CCW. Just my luck, I got every single motor in the incorrect position.
Props: No real thoughts. Only 3" props I have. They do look cool.
Receiver: I can't believe how small this thing is.
Pagoda: I made a very short antenna. Fits the build very well. I did not want to go with the whip, I thought I would get better reception and range with this.
Lipo: Flying 3S is very tamed. Will upgrade to 4S soon.
