I think the 3 inch props are really nice on this quad. The procedure is easy and the cost is minimal. I have a new GEPRC Phantom {still in the box} that I will unbox, run a few packs through, then do this mod and document it as I go. Once complete I will post the process in a new thread. Looks like it flies like a rocket, makes me wonder if I should upgrade the motors on my 3" inch build in the future. Posts: 203 Threads: 14 Likes Received: 157 in 99 posts Likes Given: 308 Joined: Oct 2019 Reputation: 6 I wrecked my Gecko a while ago and used the lifetime Armattan warranty. Since I had to pay $ 25 for shipping (the usual $ 5 shipping was not available for me due to corona) I decided to also get a Gecko 4" main plate. I've recently built it with some other upgraded parts and gave it its maiden: It flew quite nicely! I'm mostly impressed with the extra flight time and better stability. Can't wait for winter to be over and practice freestyle tricks again! I'm also really happy with the high resolution of the Caddx Tarsier footage, and 60 fps also makes it really smooth. I was just wondering how to get rid of the purple glare? Would the (provided) ND8 filter help? I haven't had the chance yet to try it. And is there a way to make it handle the difference between light and dark better? I mean, in the analog DVR footage of the Ratel I had before I never had any issues with the dynamic range, it handled bright sun and dark shadows nicely. On the Tarsier I left everything default and just used the 1440p60 setting as recommended by AndyRC (and afterwards used superview to stretch the image from 4:3 to 16:9 before uploading to YouTube). What effect do the exposure and ISO settings actually have? Wow, that looks like a beast! What motors are those? I'm guessing the props are Gemfan 4032, correct? And what's the weight? Would love to see some footage also I recently got my first 5", a 6S Diatone Roma F5, and it's weird but my Gecko feels nearly as powerful as the 5"! I guess that's simply because it's half the weight of it's bigger brother. It is Xing 2203.5, the props is HQProp 4025, Gemfan 4032 is the first props I has try it over power and not so response, it good for cine and long range in my opinion, I even want to try 4023 but it triple the price compared to 4025 so I keep using 4025. The weight of my Gecko is 280g dry. It very fast, faster than my friend roma 5 inch and Catalyst Machine work 5 inch. The sound when do flip roll and power loop so awesome. I not upload video yet since I'm just beginner haha, but I will and link it here. I really like how it feels in the air; compared to my Roma F5 everything just seems lighter, almost effortless. It has a brand new Caddx Tarsier because I was tired of trying different lenses to figure out why the old one suffered from a purple glare in the footage. This time I ordered it directly from the Caddx store, but it turns out the new one has the exact same problem! Also swapped out the crappy AKK FX3 Ultimate vtx with a simple but much better Eachine Nano V2 - really impressed with it! Last but not least it now has a Happymodel EP1 ExpressLRS receiver allowing me to fly further than ever before. My range is now only limited by the video signal. The ExpressLRS dBm values can go really low (like -95) which is scary at first, but the link never drops.
