Been a DJI owner for a bit over 3 years, a Mavic Pro and a Spark, enjoy cinematic flights with those, or hooting around especially with the Spark in Sports mode (great attitude). But also love the great cinematic vids FPV pilots get with their customised hand build drones, have a few subs to channels on YouTube. Not sure where I'll start, it's mind boggling what's out there in the marketplace. For now, I have the DJI RE goggles, and am getting used to flying the M1P and the Spark with these. Once I get game to fly through some more openings with those (with the Spark), I'll probably hit a simulator with a good controller for a while, then maybe get a whoop to practice the real thing. Something I can crash a bit and not destroy the drone or the finances. I'm dead keen to help spread the word on remote ID proposal FAA have introduced for public comment, and have already submitted my online comments regardless of it being half a World away. GOVCOs Worldwide do follow each others lead, and for FPV particularly this concept is a huge hurdle to get past for you folk in the US. Does the FPVFC take international membership ? Look forward to reading up a lot, probably search a lot to research things, and when I move a bit more into this ask some questions where needed. Best regards from down under. What branch ??!! Cheers, ph2t. Heya, Adelaide is home. I'm in Melbourne a fair bit, sometimes fly a few places on the way over and back as I'm usually driving. Son lives in a nice area in Western subs (yes, there is one nice spot there ha ha). Read your little story shared early March, tough drone that little rooster. Through a toughened rear auto glass and so little damage to your drone, think I might need something like that, lol. Think your personal ethics are superb, of course right, but in this day and age, people aren't very often so honest and responsible. Will keep an eye out for you on here for sure. I'm up in SEQ a lot, work up there helping brother in his biz, when mine lets me get away for a few weeks. Love flying the QLD Nat Pks, great it's allowed up there. Flew Moreton / Tangalooma wrecks recently, what a great place. Sunset and sunrise flights, a nice camp there near the beach, and some gopro snorkelling on the wrecks. Thanks again for the welcome, I'm going to do a lot more reading an googling things before I start asking questions when I'm ready to build (or buy). I came to the conclusion a week or so ago that I won't be buying another DJI consumer drone, maybe some of their FPV stuff. Once all the covid settles a bit, we might be able to travel again. My DJI gear will look pretty slow vs your FPVs, but I'd like to see a few in action and watch you blokes with your gear, be great. We usually see our son (based in Melb), at least once a month, we either go over there or more often he comes over to see us. He's going to feel pretty isolated (no pun intended) now until a bit of normality returns, as he's always working and doesn't have much of a local social life. What branch ??!! • |
