I have at least 8 T-motor F20 II 1408 2800kv and 2 jhemc 35amp aio boards for an analog quad. I was going to put them on a 3” tadpole that I have but I think they might be too big. I mainly fly in a smaller location. I need some help picking out a frame or maybe two. I was thinking a 4” and a cinewhoop, but open to any suggestions. I looked at an Armattan Gecko 4” but I don’t think I can use the aio board. Any ideas? What’s the best cinewhoop for these?

11-Oct-2020, 09:51 AM (This post was last modified: 11-Oct-2020, 09:51 AM by hugnosed_bat.) kababs powerpick 4inch frame paired with an insta360 could give nice performance and footage. is your 35a board able for 6s? 11-Oct-2020, 05:57 PM Not too big at all. Those in 3750KV are my favorite motors for 3 inchers. Had them on a Gecko, Japalura, and multiple Acrobrat builds. Now I have just an Acrobrat Duo that has them. You can forget about being sub-250 but these motors turn any 3 incher into a real pocket rocket ... Hugnosed: Thanks for the suggestion, I might go for it. I’m not sure the 35amp could handle that or not. The motors are only rated for 2-4s, but I know that’s never stopped anyone before. However, I don’t need quite that much power as I have a smaller flying area. Ronin: Good looking out. I think I will give it a go on the 3” tadpole as I already have it. I just got nervous when the screws that came with the motors were twice as long as I needed and they looked huge. I have a smaller area and not the best pilot, but I guess I could do a throttle limit or 3s to start. Edit: after looking into it more I see what you mean by going 6s. Probably still start with 4s, but I do have two FC’s and could try the 6s. If I were to try 6s on the tadpole, what mah battery should I try? I have some 1050’s but assume that’s too much. 12-Oct-2020, 11:38 AM 2800kv is used as 6s kv today, i guess it should work on 3" or with a motoroutput limit on 4inch. I have a Tadpole 3 too. Tadpole 3" bottom plate is meant to be built with 1105/6, 1204, 1303 and 1404 motors at a stretch with the recommended 450 to 550 mah 3-4s. Using 1408 motors and heavy 4-6s batteries( >850mah) will surely lead to repeated breakage unless you just cruise around over soft surface. YouTube - Juicy FPV Journey 12-Oct-2020, 05:06 PM Yea I'd have to agree with jasper. My sense was the Tadpole was always meant more as a lightweight toothpick. I'm not sure why Armattan decided to upsize it considering they have an impressive line of 3 inchers. I've used the F20II's on their Gecki and Japalura to very good effect. |
