I was trying to fit 5 battery packs into the parallel charging board, and i think that i've twisted the balance lead more than the usual and it got loose, causing a tiny fire that result in a balance plug burned. Can this pack be rescued or it's better to not take the risk and dispose it? For instance, all the batteries that were connected are OK and charging right now. The charger it's working as usual and the parallel board is working with no damages or burn signals. Here are some pictures of the casualty Thanks for your help and thoughts • Posts: 21,408 Threads: 595 Likes Received: 9,033 in 6,687 posts Likes Given: 1,428 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 796 Perfectly salvageable. Cur the wires back one-by-one (being very careful not to short any together), then just fir a new balance lead plug. You will also want to get a crikper. https://www.amazon.com/GeeBat-460pcs-Con...B01MCZE2HM https://www.amazon.com/IWISS-Professiona...B00OMM4YUY Thank you! That tool is exactly what I need and stop suffering ripping the cables. • Posts: 1,314 Threads: 50 Likes Received: 833 in 505 posts Likes Given: 372 Joined: Jul 2018 Reputation: 51 You almost certainly know this already, but just in case - cut the balance wires individually. If you just snip the lot in one go then the clippers will short all the cells. The ground is for dead people. • Posts: 265 Threads: 24 Likes Received: 85 in 61 posts Likes Given: 11 Joined: Aug 2019 Reputation: 3 (30-Jan-2020, 10:52 AM)Banelle Wrote: You almost certainly know this already, but just in case - cut the balance wires individually. Would cut in one go without the advice. It should be common sense but things like that can be missed by me. I'll be extra careful with it. • Posts: 12,098 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 (30-Jan-2020, 06:09 PM)CM17X Wrote: Would cut in one go without the advice. And it smelled pretty terrible. Well, lesson learned, never gonna do it again now • Posts: 3,533 Threads: 265 Likes Received: 2,610 in 1,545 posts Likes Given: 3,893 Joined: Feb 2018 Reputation: 78 (30-Jan-2020, 06:09 PM)CM17X Wrote: Would cut in one go without the advice. It may go without saying but once they are all cut, don't let them touch, as they are hot, much like cutting all together. I would cut one at a time and put the cut wire in the new connector before moving to the next wire. • Posts: 12,098 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 (01-Feb-2020, 11:45 PM)Krohsis Wrote: It may go without saying but once they are all cut, don't let them touch, as they are hot, much like cutting all together.
