First pack -burned- while attempting to parallel charging
#1
So this happened today and i consider myself careful about parallel charging.
I was trying to fit 5 battery packs into the parallel charging board, and i think that i've twisted the balance lead more than the usual and it got loose, causing a tiny fire that result in a balance plug burned. Can this pack be rescued or it's better to not take the risk and dispose it?

For instance, all the batteries that were connected are OK and charging right now. The charger it's working as usual and the parallel board is working with no damages or burn signals.
Here are some pictures of the casualty

Perfectly salvageable. Cur the wires back one-by-one (being very careful not to short any together), then just fir a new balance lead plug.

Balance ports are JST-XH. You can find them everywhere. You will also want to get a crikper.

You almost certainly know this already, but just in case - cut the balance wires individually. If you just snip the lot in one go then the clippers will short all the cells.

The ground is for dead people.

Thanks for the tip! I certainly would cut all in one go, you just save me a pack!

Would cut in one go without the advice. It should be common sense but things like that can be missed by me. I'll be extra careful with it.

Been there done that Big Grin Luckily it was just a small 2S 300mAh lipo, but it still made some sparks and smoke when I snipped the wires. And it smelled pretty terrible. Well, lesson learned, never gonna do it again now Big Grin

It may go without saying but once they are all cut, don't let them touch, as they are hot, much like cutting all together.  I would cut one at a time and put the cut wire in the new connector before moving to the next wire.

Good advice, I usually use this method.
