I’m still waiting to hear from a few vendors on expected back order items. I’ll try next week and see what happens.I prefer to order everything from one vendor but that may not be possible. • Posts: 1,845 Threads: 203 Likes Received: 346 in 264 posts Likes Given: 306 Joined: May 2020 Reputation: 11 (14-Aug-2020, 07:45 PM)voodoo614 Wrote: Get the Ti Chameleon not the aluminum. I’m still waiting to hear back from Armattan to see what options they have in stock. I was looking at the aluminum and Ti as a cosmetic and functionality feature but if Ti protects electronics better,I will ask for the Ti edition. • Posts: 12,098 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 I have the aluminum, and this is before the Ti came out. It is not cosmetic. The biggest problem with the aluminum is the M2 goes south easily. The screw thread in the aluminum strips. Also over time, the rubber mount that holds the FPV will develop so play and causes oscillating. Of course Armattan will replace it for you. And it did take some time for these problems to developed. If you want an adjustable cage, then go with the Marmotte. I have narrowed it down to two frames Marmotte or TBS Soucd 1 and I’ll build w/o FPV until I decide on analog or digital. I plan on 6S and was wondering if someone could see if these parts would be good choices. FC- CL Racing F4S FC, ESC- qty of 4 BLheli_S ESC OPTO 2S-6S Motor-iflite cyber Xing 2206.5 1777kv Emax Econo 2207 1700Kv Emax I’m not so sure about and have used before on planes(5.00 for a 2205) and the low efficiency was hard on LiPo but this was before FPV technology was in its baby stage. • Posts: 4,731 Threads: 392 Likes Received: 3,231 in 1,827 posts Likes Given: 3,214 Joined: Apr 2019 Reputation: 101 Hands down, all day long, Armattan Marmotte. Would you consider T-Motor? Questions ... why F4 and why BLHeli_S (as opposed to F7 and BLHeli_32)? • Posts: 1,845 Threads: 203 Likes Received: 346 in 264 posts Likes Given: 306 Joined: May 2020 Reputation: 11 17-Aug-2020, 11:53 PM (This post was last modified: 17-Aug-2020, 11:53 PM by Rob3ddd.) I seen less issues being reported with F4 on the reviews and forums is the reason I didn’t go with F7.I don’t know if that’s accurate but that’s why I went with F4. I selected wrong ESC and glad someone checked it out. I am using 6S and will get 4 of the 35amp BLHeli_S ESC OPTO it is for 6S. • Posts: 1,845 Threads: 203 Likes Received: 346 in 264 posts Likes Given: 306 Joined: May 2020 Reputation: 11 The T motors is that the same as TOA motors Armattan provides on their custom builds? • Posts: 12,098 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 Less issue with F7 and wiring here than F4. Check out all the beginners' questions. Most are F4 and inverter problems. • Posts: 1,845 Threads: 203 Likes Received: 346 in 264 posts Likes Given: 306 Joined: May 2020 Reputation: 11 (17-Aug-2020, 09:44 PM)the.ronin Wrote: Hands down, all day long, Armattan Marmotte. I was looking at Holybro Kafute F7 AIO V1.5 and would likely choose it if using F7. I haven’t watched any setups of F7 but with F4 it looks straight forward. Anyway the Marmotte frame definitely. • Posts: 12,098 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 Kakute is good. I have it on all my 5" and bigger builds. Bulletproof so far in terms of crashes and resoldering. I also like how the gyro is soft mounted by itself. • Posts: 1,845 Threads: 203 Likes Received: 346 in 264 posts Likes Given: 306 Joined: May 2020 Reputation: 11 I’m getting the Marmotte custom build with FPV direct from Armattan. I could built it myself but the savings are so tiny after using a coupon code it’s so much simpler just to get BNF version than piece it together and everything is in stock. They have some decent prices and it’s top notch gear. I’m very tempted to order a 3 or 4 inch frame too or another 5”.lol I really can’t decide on analog or digital FPV so I’ll study up more on it. I really don’t know enough about it to make a good choice and I have to wear glasses. I’m far sighted and need bifocals or reading glasses. I’m supposed to have cataract surgery soon and hopefully they the corrective lenses they put in will help my eye sight. I may have more limitations to consider and have to stick with slower flying or cinema type quads?? Time will tell. • Posts: 4,731 Threads: 392 Likes Received: 3,231 in 1,827 posts Likes Given: 3,214 Joined: Apr 2019 Reputation: 101 If you have no FPV gear currently, going digital is absolutely the right way to go. Despite the small savings, I'd still seriously consider building it yourself. The value will be in knowing exactly how the thing was put together. No matter how good the BNF, you will crash and you will have problems. You'll then be spending time reverse engineering how they put things together rather than knowing off the bat what was used where. I would focus on the 5" for now. It's the de facto FPV standard ... and you'll soon see why. Anything smaller will skew your perceptions which so far is a blank slate I'm assuming. • |
