I’ve read / seen when using a gps to power the quad / gps via usb (if the gps gets power) before adding the Lipo. Apparently the vtx and other components can hinder the gps reception when first powered “cold”..

Yeah I searched around and found a video on youtube that says to keep the gps as far away from the vtx as possible, and apparently that goes for the video camera as well. Well first flight didn't go to well. It drifts, or was drifting to the right but it was fairly windy out. And a couple of my prop nuts came loose. But my failsafe works and everything else seems to check out. Got a little too ambitious and tried to do a roll. Will be replacing the props. If you’re drifting, first things to do: Calibrate your accelerometer. Make sure your transmitter is calibrated. Check the receiver tab in betaflight to make sure things aren’t jumping around- add dead band if they are. Prop nuts shouldn’t be coming loose, might need to tighten them more. Don’t use loctite on prop nuts and bolts, the plastic that props are made out of do *not* like it and will potentially deconstruct/fail mid flight. Dangerous operations. Disclaimer: I don’t know wtf I’m talking about. I wish I could get the smell of burnt electronics out of my nose. 02-Oct-2022, 12:17 PM Nylock nuts hand snug with a small wrench should be suffering for keeping the props in place. I usually snug them up before I go flying. This is a old video, but has great information.. and it still applies today.. if ur not familiar with J. Bardwell, u will be soon enough! There are others that also provide great content to keep u from tossing ur quads in the dumpster.. I just remember this one when it came to “trimming” a drifting quad. Also, check ALL your screws prior to a days flight.. you will be amazed what u will find.. to the include stack screws..a loose flight controller can have u chasing gremlins 02-Oct-2022, 11:48 PM (02-Oct-2022, 12:50 PM)Rob Axel Wrote: This is a old video, but has great information.. and it still applies today.. if ur not familiar with J.
